What a day! 2 beds carrots 2 beds baby kale seeded, 220 cabbage transplanted and 500' of new waterline laid! The winter garden is comin' in hot!

First time trying the "Berkeley Method" of making compost. No manure either. Just hay and grass clippings. This is a little too hot though so it gets a flip to cool it down. Beneficial microbes start to die off at 65 C. When making compost, the high temperature is needed to kill weed seeds and soil borne pathogens! This is not necessarily cost effective from a commercial perspective (flipping by hand with a pitchfork) but if anyone at home wants help learning how to make compost, give me a holler!

This is half of this years garlic. The larger bulbs on the left will be separated for replanting and the bulbs on the right are for the CSA members. I'll be able to quadruple my plantings from 420 to approximately 1600 and contribute around 200 bulbs to the CSA. Oh yeah, as always I get all the damaged ones. Oops, I dropped a few

Walk-in cooler is up and running without a moment to spare! No time to tidy up the wires today. For those of you that don't know, the CoolBot in the top left corner "tricks" the air conditioner and makes it run in beast mode!

Now this is how I farm livestock! I've had this colony for around 6 years. They even came with me the last time I moved. Nothing better for the plants than worm poop!

Huge shout out to my own family and the Switzer family for a long day of sifting rocks. That's one block down!
