Such dishonour for the North Nova Scotia Highlanders that trained in this Armoury and sacrificed their lives. Such disrespect for our youth, our cadets, our fu...ture leaders that train in the Armoury for their country. The Federal government (Department of National Defence) shut down the Amherst Armoury today suddenly, via an email, citing it as "unsafe". At the last meeting with our MP, Mayor and other Town Councillors I asked the Military man responsible for the Armoury if they would do this and he looked me in the eye and said "No". He said they were commited to working with us and our community. Join me, Ray Coulson, John Whales, our cadets, and others on Thursday at 6pm in front of the Armoury to show our Federal government that we will NOT stand for this tactic. See more
