Downtown City Speakers Toastmasters Club

We had a swarm of guests today at our meeting and it was great to hear from all of them. Today we heard a speech from our member, Shauna C and her experience as the Area Director. Thank you to Tammy N, from Dynamically Speaking for evaluating her speech. Today in Table Topics, we talked about bad and good weather. Congrats to our guest and members for participating, you were great. Thank you to Shauna G, also from Dynamically Speaking for being our Table Topics evaluator. We hope to see everyone again next week.

A great Toastmaster meeting is always one that has an Icebreaker speech! Today we were very fortunate to have an outstanding first speech ever from Gail! It was great to learn more about one of our newest members. We had a second speaker, Chuck who presented a brief education session from the Toastmasters’ Better Speaker series, about how to select a topic for a speech. We welcomed three guests today, which made our meeting that much more enjoyable. We hope you come back. ... Raj, our Table Topics master got us talking about employment (our theme). He led a fun and interesting Table Topics session. It was an outstanding meeting today!

Our theme today was about Making Decisions which aligned with the word of the day - Decisive. Raj delivered an interesting Ice Breaker speech about his experiences growing up in Nepal and then moving to Canada. We also learned about effective communication when using gestures in an entertaining speech from Darwin. Lisa lead us through some creative, would you rather Table Topic questions. We had a interactive meeting today with participation from all.

Dave Schaaf and Shauna Conard from Downtown City Speakers Club attended the Lethbridge Sunrise Rotary Club meeting in Lethbridge the week of October 26, 2020. B...oth Dave and Shauna made presentations about the Rotary and Toastmasters alliance. Our meetings are fun.

We had some guests join us today for our weekly meeting. The theme was Wildfires, where some of our members shared their experiences. Darwin gave a speech about the different communication styles and we were able to share our thoughts about our communication styles during Table Topics. Thanks to everyone who came out - it was a fun meeting!
