In celebration of International Women's Day March 8, we will be spotlighting some of the AWESOME women who make downtown Pembroke great. Christal Loback - My inspiration for becoming an entrepreneur came from having huge dreams and visions ever since I was a little girl and seeing the freedom attached to creating your own legacy. Being a woman in business to me means having the ability to create the space I want and need, living my life to the fulles...t. Having time freedom to be with my husband and children more and being my own leader. I opened February 2020, 6 weeks into business I had to close due to the first lockdown. In my first year of business I have been closed longer than I have been open. It most definitely taught me how to refocus and try new things to stay present and in the public eye. Making it through 2020 is definitely something I’m proud of!!! I would like to celebrate my Mom. She has shown me perseverance, dedication and how to love unconditionally. She is my best mentor and friend. See more
JANE LOFTUS - Loftus Foot Care Clinic The desire to offer a unique service that I would be good at while using my university degrees is what motivated me to own my own business. I believe that being a woman in business means respect, helping people to the best of my ability, sustainability, and satisfaction. Challenges I faced as a woman in business were learning accounting and administration by trial and error, cutting costs as prices increase, consulting with peers, learning effective marketing, also trial and error. One of my proudest moments was becoming sole proprietor and business owner independent of my original partners. A woman I want to celebrate is Cathy Schulz, my administrator for 10 years from 2003-2013. She basically ran my business and taught me about life and business practices.

Hi folks , my name is Teresa and I am a volunteer at Got You In Mind . Things are really tough right now with no income coming in to pay the bills so I have dec...ided to make candles to sell to help keep the doors open. Blanch has worked so hard over the years to help everyone with everything and I just can’t sit back and see her have to close the doors . We will be selling the candles at the store when it opens and we are setting up an online auction very soon and they will be sold there also . They will start at $5 for the small ones and price will go up for the big ones. I will soon be making candles with jewelry in them. Stay tuned for them !! If anyone has any wicks or candles of any kind that you could donate to help me keep making these candles I would really appreciate it. You can drop them off at Got You In Mind or give us a call . Thank you everyone . God Bless You All. You are all loved at Got You In Mind See more
