ACTINIC KERATOSIS treated with Erbium fractional resurfacing(also used for collagen stimulation for texture, scar reduction and vaginal restoration). AK is a scaly spot found on sun-damaged skin. It is also known as solar keratosis. It is considered precancerous or an early form of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma(it often spread to lymph nodes and kill people). AKs can be red, brown or skin colored but always feel rough to the touch. If you have a few of them, cryotherapy... (liquid nitrogen) can be applied. Regional areas like this, where hundreds of lesions collect in one area, is a problem because the topical medications are expensive and don't always work. Skin tags - " acrochordons". Develop in both men and women as they grow older. They are skin coloured or darker and range in size from 1mm to 5cm. They are most often found in the skin folds (neck, armpits, groin). They tend to be more numerous in obese persons and in those with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Our new Excel V + 532 nm laser treats skin tags - here we see before/during/after Nichole does a treatment. Patient was able to tolerate this well. In my experience removing them by sharp dissection was effective and non-scarring but painful to inject the local anesthetic. From now on I will do laser on all clients. Hand veins. Sclerotherapy can also be done for hand, breast and facial veins. Laser done widely but is not the most effective; sclerotherapy is considered the gold standard. In this case we are doing hand rejuvenation which is done in 3 steps: vein sclerotherapy followed by laser photo rejuvenation and lastly, filler to fill in the depressed spaces between the tendons. (Forgive the variance in lighting and back ground here but I think the vein reduction shows very nicely). She also had 2 laser treatments and was started on a bleaching/blending program for the next 4months. She is a lovely partner in her care and is proactive with sunscreen.

The good news is I lost 20lbs in the last 4 months thanks to some new treatment options in the world of medicine! The bad news is, despite cycling, I discovered there are pockets around my waste that are stubborn. Even when I rode my bike 20 hours a week years ago while being on a very restricted diet, these pockets stayed. FIRST SATURDAY OF LZARA SERVICES! I am so happy we could offer a service today, the first on weekends. We did two skin consultations, one rosacea and one anti-aging. I did an ultrasound scan on a new varicose vein patient and finished vein sclerotherapy that we started in the week. Exciting times!
