This video was created at the beginning of the pandemic and it is aimed at health care workers, but the same principals apply to us all now. Concerning telephone consultations: please make yourself available at your appointment time. Dr. Baker will call the number you requested to be called at and if you are not available, he will move on to the next patient and you may be charged a missed appointment fee of $50. Also, please be aware that when Dr. Baker is calling, your caller ID will show "No Caller ID" or "Unknown number". As with regular in-office visits, some patients require more time on the phone than allotted to them and Dr. Baker may be running behind. He will still call you when it is your turn.

Effective immediately, Dr. Baker will be requiring all patients that attend in-person appointments to wear a non-medical face mask. We encourage you to bring your own mask, but if you cannot acquire one, we will provide one to you at no cost while supplies last.

Hi everyone - just an update for all those who are wondering: Dr. Baker continues to conduct telephone consultations for those patients with active medical concerns. Please call the office at 902-575-3350 and leave a message with the reason for your appointment and the best telephone number at which to reach you. We will triage these messages and call you back to schedule your telephone consultation. If, during the telephone consultation, Dr. Baker deems it necessary for... you to be seen in person, we will then schedule you for the next available in-clinic appointment. Given the phased re-opening of medical services due to COVID-19, these appointments are still quite limited. We hope to increase the number of in-clinic appointments gradually as services resume. We also apologize for not being able to offer our same-day booking option at the current time. As the phased re-opening continues, we hope to be able to offer this service again in the future. Also, since the COVID-19 pandemic has begun, we have been waiving all missed appointment/no show fees for telephone consultations. Unfortunately, many patients have failed to be available at their scheduled time without notifying us. This is quite unfair to the other patients also trying to book an appointment. Effective July 13th, if you are scheduled for a telephone consultation and do not make yourself available to receive a call at that time, there will be a missed appointment fee of $50. If there is an outstanding missed appointment fee, then we will not be able to schedule you for most visits until this fee has been paid.

If an in-person visit is deemed necessary by Dr. Baker, you will be contacted the day before your appointment. Dr. Baker's office is currently closed to the general public. We are conducting phone visits where applicable for patients who have a pre-booked appointment. If a phone visit is not applicable (ie. a physical exam is required) and the visit cannot be postponed, we will see the patient at the office. Due to travel outside of Canada, Dr. and Melissa Baker are currently self-isolating for the next two weeks and the physical office will remain closed until further notice. This also means that there will be no same-day appointments available. If you have a pre-booked appointment, you will receive a call the day before to discuss the possibility of conducting a medical assessment over the phone at your scheduled time. If a telephone assessment is not possible, we will reschedule for a later date.

Dr. Baker will be away from July 18th until August 6th. The office will only be open during this time from July 23rd to July 26th for patients to see Dr Kinsley for their pre-booked appointments only.

If you have friends or family members who currently do not have a family doctor, they can be placed on the provincial waiting list (see the link below for details). Dr. Pierce will be accepting new patients from this list and will not be conducting a call-in registration. Please note that you cannot be placed on the waiting list if you currently have a family doctor.

Please be aware that we are completely out of MMR (measles/mumps/rubella) vaccinations until June 14th, 2019. If you were born between 1970 and 1991 and you only received one measles vaccine, it is recommended that you get a booster vaccine. if you are interested in receiving a booster, please call the office to make an appointment to ensure that we hold one of these vaccines for you. This does not affect routine childhood vaccinations which include MMRV vaccines (measles/mumps/rubella/varicella).

Dr. Baker’s office will be closed for Good Friday and Easter Monday. We will re-open on Tuesday, April 23rd at 8:30am. Happy Easter, everyone!
