People often ask me if I work with pregnancy. The answer is, of course!! It's literally the best part of my job. Fertility is a heavy space to live in. The limbo, the stress, the pain and heartbreak. I try to stay objective but I feel it all. I connect to my clients and genuinely want to see them build the family they dream of. I put everything into their results. So when they get pregnant, it's an absolute joy to support them through the pregnancy and even into their... first year post-partum. I used to be a doula supporting women through labour and delivery, I worked in pediatrics for many years, I did research in pregnancy and post-partum. It's honestly the thing that keeps me going. The part of what I do that allows me to stick through the hard days. I don't post much about that because I try to be sensitive to people who are still in the middle of their fertility journey. But what if it could give you some hope? What if I could show you just a taste of why I have been doing this tough but rewarding job for so many years? See more

What’s giving you the feels today? I love working with women for so many reasons. I love giving them a voice in a system that can be hard to navigate, I love helping them understand their bodies so they can realize that they're not broken. I love making dreams come true so they can have the families they so deeply desire. Fertility is an emotionally heavy place to spend my time in. There are ups and downs, frustrations and fears and although I try to stay objective, I'...m human. I feel connected to my clients and their outcomes. I cry when they suffer a loss. I ache when they are waiting in limbo. What keeps me going is the happy results after all that effort. I live for those squishy faced baby photos and cuddles. The best part of what I do is following a woman along her pregnancy and supporting her through her pregnancy journey, the labour and delivery, and even through the first year post partum. Can't get enough of those squishy faces! What makes you smile on a rough day? @ Milton, Ontario See more

"I just got a positive on a pregnancy test and I'm in shock! I realized that all my efforts have been to get to this point and now I'm clueless on what I need to do next!" There's a lot to know about pregnancy and what to do for the various stages and trimesters. What most people don't realize is that while you're trying to get pregnant, there's also a lot you can do to help improve the health of a future baby. More in fact than you can do after you get pregnant.... This is why when I develop a fertility action plan, I'm looking at overall health, parental age, egg quality and genetics. Not just ovulation and timing of sex. Sadly there are so many risks when you're having kids later in life. We need to look at not only the risks to the mom but also the risks to the baby. https://rishmawalji.mykajabi.com/biological-clock-workshop Raise your hand if you felt clueless after getting pregnant? Or even after having your baby? I'll go first, despite all that I know I STILL feel like being responsible for kids is a huge undertaking and I'll always be trying to improve, asking experts and learning.

Recently I was asked by someone if I had any regrets. If you know me, you know I'm always thinking and planning and analyzing. It's hard not to look back and evaluate your life. Especially if you've experienced stressful events or a difficult journey. I try to keep in mind that it's useful to look back when you're trying to process events, grow from the experience, learn how to progress or make changes for your future. But regret is tricky because it can also pull y...ou back. It's super important to understand your emotions, deal with grief or trauma, allow your body and mind to process what's happened to you. That requires reflection, coping skills, discussion, release, (repeat) ... The difference is how you proceed. While I talk to people about emotions all day (it's always part of the process), I also always work with and refer to mental health professionals to help people process grief and manage stress. When it comes to a plan of action, optimizing health, understanding biochemistry, managing hormones.... that's me - all day. every day. If you're trying to change your future, want to make adjustments to improve your fertility, message me. I'm happy to chat with you to see if I can help to guide you in the right direction. See more

You probably already know (if you don’t, you can likely guess with a quick scroll through my feed) that I work as a fertility coach, naturopathic doctor and acupuncturist. I absolutely love what I do, and could go on for days about hormones and women's health. But if I’m naming my absolute favorite thing it would be having the privilege of playing a role in the making of families. ... Not a day goes by where that’s lost on me. The work is challenging and demanding and often deeply emotional. The upside and results are beyond rewarding. I live for those squishy faces! Swipe to see glimpses of the baby book always I keep on my bookshelf ;) What do you love most about what you do? @ Toronto, Ontario
