https://www.hsph.harvard.edu//the-stages-of-an-obesity-e/ A bird's eye view of how Obesity progresses in society. Also, I was unaware of how significant the policy changes in Mexico have been: " And now we have pretty strong scientific evidence that there will be a decline in body mass index at the population level in Mexico over the next ten years. If that does come to pass, that will be the first-ever documented national decline in BMI ever recorded " ... Okay, go Mexico!!

2 Articles discussing a new study on low-carb eating. 12 million dollars and still nothing that will change what I will tell my patients, I wonder how far the USA will go to justify their love for low carb diets? As Dr. Kevin Hall said when I first listened to him speak, "I am not drinking any of this Kool-Aid". https://www.nytimes.com//how-a-low-carb-diet-might-help-yo https://www.vox.com//2018/11/16/18096633/keto-low-carb-diet

I don't know why the ketogenic diet is gaining popularity right now, but I thought I would share this article because I think they did a great job. I always tell patients that one of the most important diet studies they should pay attention to is the study of themselves...so long as your body gets what it needs and you are not eating too much or too little, then trying different diets can often help you find what works for YOU. The best diet is the best one you can stick with - trying new things sometimes helps you find those sticky things. https://www.hsph.harvard.edu//healthy-weight/diet-reviews/

This is one of the best news articles I have ever read about informed choice and how to assist patients to make decisions that are best for them. Everyone is getting older. Everyone will likely need medical tests or treatments. Everyone should read this article. Over the next 6 months, I plan to bring the risk vs benefit discussion to the Vancouver fitness scene, the outcome of which is uncertain :)... https://mobile.nytimes.com//were-bad-at-evaluating-risk-ho
