Here’s one of my all time fave salads for the summer (or anytime of year really)
In a stunning victory for public health, Johnson & Johnson announced it will stop selling its iconic baby powder in the U.S and Canada!! J&J’s surprise move ca...me in response to both a decline in sales and growing consumer outrage over the asbestos-ovarian cancer link and the documented presence of asbestos-contaminated talc in some J&J baby powder. However, asbestos-contaminated baby powder is just the tip of the iceberg of the problem. Even one fiber of asbestos can also cause mesothelioma and asbestos is showing up in everything from talc-based blush and bronzer to eye make-up in both adult and kids cosmetics The saga gets worse, because even though there is no safe level of exposure to asbestos, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration can’t even force companies to recall cosmetic products that they know are contaminated with asbestos because they were tested their own labs! And the J&J outrage continues because the cosmetic giant plans to sell down its existing inventory of baby powder until it runs out, and it will continue to sell talc-based baby powder in other markets around the world! So celebrate today and then urge your congressional representative to support the Safe Cosmetics and Personal Care Products Act to ensure everyone has access to safe cosmetics, that are free of asbestos and other extremely toxic chemicals of concern. Take action todaywww.bcpp.org/take-action/demand-toxic-free-beauty-now/

Glyphosate present in grain free kibble is the real cause of sudden death in dogs. As with human food, this herbicide chemical, which is found in RoundUp, is sprayed in high amounts onto most crops, especially the ones that make up grain free kibble - lentils, chick peas, and peas. It is also very high in oats and wheat. "Those that eat grain-free kibble have the highest levels. It is believed that the movement to grain-free diets using ingredients such as oats, pea protein, chick peas and lentils may be a cause."
