Who is itching for the weekend so they can get outside? There are many scientifically proven benefits from getting out of the city and into nature. Increased energy, a more balanced mood, reduced stress, strengthened immune system function, and improved concentration. It is so important to our everyday lives in a number of different ways, making it one of the first lifestyle changes I suggest for patients who are being challenged by anxiety and depression. Not only that, psyc...hologists believe spending time outdoors makes us better people! That’s hard to argue with! It doesn’t have to be anything extreme. Get out of the city. Leave your phone on airplane mode. Head to the trees. This weekend I’m headed to the trees for a day of snowshoeing and exploring. Where are you headed?

What is prolotherapy? Prolotherapy is a form of regenerative joint injection therapy. The goal of the injection is to stimulate the body’s innate healing ability to strengthen and repair joints and connective tissue. Not only is this good for chronic issues such as pain and instability, but also for acute injuries. How does it work?... The injection is a mixture of a sugar (typically dextrose) and an anesthetic (procaine or lidocaine). The solution irritates the tissue and causes a local inflammatory response. This stimulates healing and the growth of new connective tissue. Over a series of injections, the strength of damaged connective tissue is increased. How many treatments are required? Frequency and total number of treatments varies depending on the site and severity of injury. Some patients only need one treatment while others may need 10 or more. On average, most patients will receive 4 to 6 treatments, with one injection every 2-6 weeks. Is it painful? Any joint injection will be slightly painful as it involves needle insertion. The severity of the pain depends on the location of the injection, the degree of injury, and the concentration of the solution being injected. Post-injection, there may be a one to two day period of stiffness and soreness that may limit activity. Book an initial consult today at www.sequoiawellness.ca!

Intravenous (IV) Vitamin Therapy is a method of delivering high doses of important vitamins, minerals, and amino acids straight to the parts of your body that need it most. By choosing IV Vitamin Therapy over traditional oral supplementation, you can deliver much higher amounts of nutrients in a single dose. Why choose IV Vitamin Therapy? Have you been feeling tired recently? Do you feel low energy? Do you feel like your’e coming down with something? IV Vitamin therapy can be... used as part of your everyday health routine to improve energy, mood, and sleep or in helping your body fight illness, whether that’s flus and colds or a chronic medical condition. I enjoy using IV Vitamin Therapy as part of my practice because it can be easily tailored to an individual patient’s needs, it provides the body with the natural building blocks it needs to work maximally, and patients report feeling great after!
