: Once you see a chiropractor you have to go for the rest of my life. Is this something you have heard before?! Let’s take a minute to debunk this myth! My job as a chiropractor is to perform a thorough history and physical exam in order to provide my patients with a diagnosis and treatment plan. My ultimate goal as a health-care professional is to fix my patients injuries in the designated treatment plan time frame (typically anywhere from 2-8 weeks) and ...send them on their way. However the decision to continue care is always in the hands of the patient and I never pressure patients’ to feel otherwise. Now that I’ve debunked this myth are you interested in setting up your first chiropractic appointment?! Let me know in the comments below or shoot me a DM. Happy Wednesday! See more

: Chiro treatment only consists of adjustments and they are painful. Have you ever thought this? I’ve had patients, friends and family ask this many times so let’s clear up this myth! Adjustments typically do not hurt and often patients have immediate pain relief following an adjustment. Some patients are wary of the cracking noise that occurs during an adjustment. Believe it or not, this sound is actually caused by the release of gas bubbles in the joint. ...Some patients remain nervous about being adjusted and ultimately I will never adjust a patient if they are uncomfortable. Also sometimes an adjustment isn’t necessary for the specific injury. As a chiropractor, I have many treatment techniques in my tool belt. I am certified in contemporary medical acupuncture and have training in soft tissue techniques such as ART (active release technique). Interested in learning more? Ask me a question below or shoot me a DM. Happy Wednesday! See more

DO YOU WAKE UP IN PAIN AFTER SLEEPING?! Many of my patients suffer from aches and pains due to the way they sleep at night. Is this you?! Follow these easy DOs and DON’Ts to up your sleep game. DO: ... Keep your spine in neutral alignment (head is balanced between shoulders, chin is level and eyes are forward) Find a pillow that allows you to keep neutral alignment (nothing too high or too low, if you need suggestions ask!) Use a cervical roll to support the neck if needed ( you can make this at home by rolling up a towel) DON’T: Sleep on your stomach (this jams your low back into extension and forces your head to be rotated out of neutral alignment) Lie directly on the tip of your shoulder (this can put unwanted stress into the shoulder joint) If you have any specific questions above your sleeping position comment below or shoot me a DM. Pro tip for stomach sleepers: tape a tennis ball to your stomach to help train yourself not to roll over during the night. Let me know if you try any of these tips!! @ Liberty Village See more
