If inflammation continues in the gums and goes deeper the result will be loss of bone between teeth. Long term gum problem and bone loss is associated and linked to poorly controlled diabetes and possibly with Alzheimer Disease. My own mother suffers from persistent Alzheimer and bad small coming out of her mouth it is linked to Treponema Denticola present in her brain. My own father had Multiple Myeloma, there is high release of calcium in blood. After I did cleaning for him by 2 days I can see so much tartar again deposited on his lower anterior teeth at the side facing the tongue. Brushing alone is not sufficient to clean your gums. You have to use Proxa Brush and Stim-U-Dent between teeth -- dip it in Chlorhexidine or Listerine and go as deep as you can between tooth and gums.
