Today is World Maternal Mental Health Day. A day where we focus on raising awareness and breaking the stigma that surrounds maternal mental health. . Did you know that as many as 1 in 5 women will experience some kind of perinatal mood and anxiety disorder (PMADs) - the most common being postpartum depression? Any women, regardless of age, culture, or socioeconomic status, can develop this at any time during pregnancy and within the first 12 months postpartum. This is somethi...ng that affects not only mom, but the whole family. . The reality is that there is no health without m e n t a l health and we need to raise the standard of care. Every single mom out there deserves this - she deserves access to evidence based care so she can be her best self. She deserves more. . If you know any new moms, reach out. Ask them how they are doing, listen to them, talk to them, just be there for them. And mamas, if you feel like you need help, reach out to who you feel safe talking to and get the help you deserve. . Together we can break the stigma See more

Again, all I can say is...THIS. . Once again, chiropractic was mentioned in an article that questioned some of our practices/profession. I think the CCA did a fantastic job addressing this article and it's definitely worth a read! . .... . https://www.chiropractic.ca//public-statement-chiropract/ See more

This. . . . After baby is born, moms focus their sole attention on making sure baby is healthy, happy and thriving, often at the expense of themselves. The post partum period can be tough, and moms don't always get the medical/health support they might need from professionals.... Don't forget about yourselves mommas, reach out to a health professional who is educated and trained in post partum rehab/therapy to get you back to your old self! As always, ask away if you have any questions or book an appointment through my website!
