The provincial government is now allowing health-care providers to gradually resume care. This means that dentists will soon begin seeing patients for more types of treatments. I’m currently waiting for the revised guidelines from my regulator, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. Before I can be ready to treat you, we must meet all of their updated safety requirements. We have been working hard to prepare our office and secure adequate PPE to protect you and ours...elves. As such, you can expect some changes to the office and our appearance when you come in. We will explain them to you when we schedule your appointment. I will notify you once I can safely open my practice. The health and safety of my patients and my dental team is my top priority. I look forward to seeing you and your family soon. Until then, if you have a dental emergency I can still be reached at [email protected] and 519.672.1360 #dentist #dentistry #dentalcare #londonontario #londonont #londonon #downtownlondonont #lndontario

Maintaining good oral care habits can be tough for kids, especially now that our usual routines are in disarray. Here are a few tips that may help motivate your child to keep their teeth squeaky clean every day: 1) Make it musical -- Brushing to the beat is fun, and will encourage kids to brush for the recommended amount of time (2 minutes). 2) There's an app for that! -- There are several apps that will help remind and motivate kids to brush, and make it fun while doing so.... My favourite apps are Brush Up for younger children and BrushDJ for older kids (and adults too). 3) Create a chart or reward system -- Sometimes kids just need a little incentive to brush their teeth. Try creating a sticker chart, or offering a small prize if they brush their teeth twice a day for a week. 4) Brush and floss alongside your child -- Kids learn from their parents’ behaviour. Brushing together shows you take oral health seriously and will give your child a chance to imitate that behaviour. Or if your child is competitive, tap into that trait and challenge them to see how can brush until the 2 minutes are up! #dentist #dentistry #dentalcare #londonontario #londonont #londonon #downtownlondonont #lndontario #dentaltip

April is Oral Health Month, but unfortunately we won't be able to celebrate with you in person since all dental offices are closed due to COVID-19. Perhaps this timing isn't so bad after all... It is a good reminder that now more than ever it is important to take care of our teeth and gums at home. Brushing twice a day for 2 minutes along with regular flossing and a healthy diet will help prevent major dental issues. Be safe and well, and hopefully we will see each other again soon! #dentist #dentistry #dentalcare #londonontario #londonont #londonon #downtownlondonont #lndontario #covid19closure #stayhome

Dentists are health care providers first and foremost. Yes, most of us are also small business owners. But by staying open to perform non-emergency treatment we risk spreading COVID-19, contributing to a further overwhelmed medical system, and deaths. Colleagues, please make the right choice and cease all elective and non-essential treatment. And if you do perform emergency care, please avoid creating aerosols and ensure you and your staff are wearing adequate personal protective equipment (n95 masks, gowns and face shields).

To our wonderful patients, stay safe and healthy. And please brush and floss so I have one less thing to worry about.
