Wednesady March 10th, 7pm Register at DragAcademy.ca In this step-by-step class you’ll learn everything you need to paint a polished king face whether your style is whimsical or realistic. We won’t all be painting the same makeup design, rather each participant will finish the class with a face uniquely tailored to them. We’ll cover several different contouring patterns for masculine faces and determine which one suits your facial structure best. I’ll demonstrate how to play ...with makeup design to emphasize your existing drag persona’s personality. Tools and techniques; such as brushes, products and application skills will be reviewed as we paint. Lastly, we’ll go over half a dozen options for drawing and applying facial hair, discuss the pros & cons of various adhesives, and I’ll demonstrate the most secure way to apply fake facial hair. I hope to impart many tips & tricks I’ve learned over the years to help you hone your makeup skills! For this workshop it’s not necessary that you already have a developed drag persona, however an existing knowledge of basic drag makeup products will be very helpful to participants. Beginners to drag makeup are welcome however they may find the pace of the class challenging. Note: If any individuals would like to do a look with covered brows, they should glue their eyebrows down before the class begins, as we won’t have the time to do it together. You will need: Something to take notes with, if you’d like! Full coverage foundation (either matching your skin or in another colour you want as your base) I recommend KRYLON TV PAINT STICKS. Ben Nye foundations in smaller makeup pots are also a good and affordable alternative. Setting powder, clear or skin-toned. I use Ben Nye’s but there are lots of good ones Contour cream palette OR liquid foundations in shades lighter and darker than your foundation. I recommend NYX’s HIGHLIGHT & CONTOUR CREAM PRO PALETTE Contour powder palette OR eyeshadows in nudes/ browns shades Eye shadows in colours that you like/ that suit your persona Various brushes in multiple shapes and sizes and a powder puff, if you’re just starting out Dollarama brushes are fine! Eyeliner in brown or black and mascara OPTION ITEMS: -brown eyeliner pencil (for tracing out the contour pattern) -Highlighter, bronzer and blush -False lashes + lash glue -Facial hair + adhesive -Lipstick + lip liner -Setting spray
