Saturday morning, Freedom Dog Rescue lost one of the most senior members of our Palliative Foster Program, Silas. His devoted foster dad Rock was by his side from the beginning of his Freedom journey. Silas came to rescue emaciated and in rough shape but with the love of his foster dad and with the medical care he deserved, he truly grew into a happy boy. I was fortunate enough to be able to do a session with them in June. Thank you Rock for your unconditional love and devotion to these palliative babies. Our hearts are with you during this sad time. <3 Run free sweet Silas, you made the world a better place <3

So very sorry you had to say an early goodbye to your beloved T-Bone. He knew he was deeply loved and returned that love ten times over. Fly free sweet boy, you are missed.

Meet Sophia! This adorable high energy girl is 6 years old and has a real zest for life. She was so fun to take pictures of, she sat, she zoomed she chomped at mosquito, she left us with big smiles! Look into those eyes!!! This gorgeous Shepard mix, Tiga, is only 5 years old and she would love a family of her own. She would prefer to be the only dog so she can get all the love and belly rubs for herself. I cant even imagine the kind of person who could dump a senior dog because they cant be bothered with them anymore. This 10 year old gentle Golden Retriever was found as a stray in Quebec and brought into a kill shelter. He was hours away from being euthanized when Freedom Dog Rescue stepped up to bring this boy into care. Nolan came to his palliative foster dad with a big grin and a slow gentle wag of his tail. He adores his palliative foster sister Chloe and is feeling... a million times better now that he has some pain relief meds for his arthritic hips. Such a sweet typical Golden, he loves to love and carries a toy around when he goes for walks with his new forever foster family. I was so touched by this boy and so grateful I got to do a photo session with him. My gratitude also extends to his amazing foster dad who now cares for two of Freedoms Palliative babies. If it werent for the Freedom Dog Rescue Palliative Care Foster Program, Nolan and the 16 other dogs in Freedoms care would have been euthanized. This amazing program gives these dogs a chance to live with dignity, love and care and when it is their time to go, they are held and leave our world knowing love. Meet Mr. Handsome himself <3 This beautiful Olde English Bulldogge stayed with us for a few weeks and we were so lucky to get to know him. He lived up to all the behaviors we expected from a bulldog and more. He is so funny, sweet, loving and so energetic. Loved having him in our pack for a bit.

I was invited out to do a special photoshoot (at a distance) for a pair that really need the help right now. Meet bonded pair Bonnie (brown) and Clyde (black). This gorgeous pair of Labs had a rough go but in true Lab style they are full of joy and love and goofy antics. These two were picked up by Hawksbury O.P.P and then the Alfred Plantagenet pound. The pound contacted Freedom Dog Rescue and advised them that Bonnie seemed to be in pain. This sweet pair was picked up im...mediately and brought to Freedoms temporary kennel for the night where the owner noticed that Bonnie seemed to have an abscess burst. Bonnie was rushed to the vet where they discovered she was bruised all over her belly likely from being kicked and had been shot with a .22. Immediate emergency care was administered and these two sweet Labs are now recovering in a loving foster home and will soon be available for adoption. Due to the current situation I have not been booking any sessions. Yesterday I got a message from a friend who had to say goodbye to one of her babies. I decided to make an exception and met them for about 10 minutes to capture a few moments of sweet Meatballs last day. I used a very long lens and we kept our distance. I was really happy to be able to do this for Meatball and her Mama. This furbaby is so loved. Run free sweet Meatball, you will always be remembered. This sweet baby is so little he needs his formula fed to him with a syringe. Meet 3lb 3 week old Beast, hes another fighter named after X-Men. He came to Freedom as an owner surrender as his mom was no longer feeding him. Beast is being hand fed and cared for by his foster family. As you can see Beast was also born with a leg deformity making his paw look like a lobster claw. We are not sure yet what will be the outcome for his paw. Meet little Wolverine. This itty bitty 8 week old chihuahua is only 1.8lbs and he is a fighter. Wolverine came into the care of Freedom Dog Rescue when he was initially diagnosed with parvo. Eagleson vet clinic came to his aid and got him feeling better and off to his foster home pretty quickly. After being in care for a day he began having seizures and ultimately ended up being in a coma. He was rushed to the vet clinic in Cassleman where he was cared for overnight by ...the vet and his wife. It has now been determined that this little guy is diabetic. Wolverine is on the mend with the right meds and in great hands with his new foster family who might just be foster failing! Thanks to so many people who have helped care for Wolverine and a special thanks to the exceptional team at the Cassleman veterinary clinic, without them he may not be here today. See more

This sweet little pumpkin just celebrated her 13th birthday. She was rescued from a puppy mill in 2011 when she was just four years old. Since then she has been living her best life and providing endless joy and love to her family and fur siblings. Happy Birthday Charlie girl, you are so loved!!

Look at beautiful Andi who was adopted by a terrific family. This gorgeous boy certainly practiced for his Dragon Dance photo session. He was perfectly posey and nailed the "i am so cute give me cookies" look.

Saturday I saw the memorial Freedom dog rescue tree at Resting Paws. Sadly my trip out there was to bring my beautiful Thomas home for a final time. Our gentle, dignified boy with the cheeky smile left us on his own terms last Sunday evening. He left every person he met with a smile from that little propeller tail wagging a million miles a minute and his love of pets and hugs. He was one of the poster dogs for Freedom Dog Rescues Palliative program. He was King for ...a Day at the Chateau Laurier, he attended a fundraising dinner at Whalesbone with the Ottawa Senators and he was a special part of every cuddle session so he could bring happiness to those around him. It is with great sadness that I post the news about the passing of one Freedom Dog Rescues palliative babies. 9 year old Mia, a beautiful Great Dane was loved by all who knew her. She spent a glorious year in Freedoms palliative foster program being loved and spoiled by her amazing foster family. You will be deeply missed Mia. You were so loved.

Meet little Cynda. This sweet young girl is so petite in size but biggggg in personality! She is looking for her forever family who will enjoy helping her to become the best doggo she can be. Meet Jack an adorable 3 year old Husky mix who always has a smile. I allocated 30 minutes of shooting time for this big guy but he had his photo session nailed in 15 minutes! Time for some more puppy love! This little Avenger is Hulk. He is the biggest guy of the litter and very adventurous. Hes the friend that says "Hey guys follow me, I have a great idea....." This little fluff ball is just 4 weeks in this image and he here to save your Monday by infusing the day with Captain cuteness <3 Watch for Captain American and his 7 avenger litter mates, coming to a Freedom Dog rescue event soon.
