Self Portrait: Since relapsing, my images have changed. If you look at them you will see the shift. Nature is a powerful and ancient mirror. On the solstice, while tending Fire, I was given some clarity. Nature is reminding me that within darkness, light is born. She is compelling me to remember that my heart is big enough to hold the whole universe. That the broken parts are what allow light to blaze through. That I am pain, and I am joy. That there is golden fire within my... soul that can not be extinguished. That the paradox that is me is healing trickster energy. A rare and precious gift. She patiently and lovingly held that mirror up to me until I was ready to see. Finally, I have wiped the grief from my eyes and see myself clearly. I am transforming. I feel it in my bones. Going forth will be about integrating this wisdom into who I am becoming and learning how to share it with All My Relations, Human and More than Human. She is showing me the way. Today, as I tended Sacred Fire, I noticed Raven’s commanding presence. I sang and drummed. Raven came close and turned her gaze upon me. I lifted pipe and prayed for the well being of All My Relations, human and other than human. I prayed for the return of light and for the ways in which that has the potential to manifest in humans. Raven raised her voice alongside mine. Some time later, a Sister showed up with a gift. She said, It’s Raven stealing the light. I laughed alou...d and thought to myself, Of course it is! I can not think of a better symbol for these times. This is good medicine. Thank you Robin Witch. I’m grateful to Raven for helping me to see and pray that her medicine be strong in my heart as I move through the dance of life.
