As Covid continues to prevent me from creating henna on humans... I've turned my attention to kitchen creative challenges... Today, on Family Day here in NB, I've decided to challenge myself to make profiteroles for my gang! So far so good! Choux pastry success! Shells baked! Creme patissiere made, and cooling in my BBQ fridge on my deck. Canadian winters are the best for fridge expansion ability! Just finished watching the world's first feature length documentary about henna. It was informative, colourful, and inclusive. Was so excited to get to look into the henna farms and processing factories. I have a refreshed appreciation for this beautiful plant that has blessed me, my family and my clients for over 17 years. Have had a few lovely days on the road with my best friend (who happens to also be my husband ) @areinders9 . Hikes bursting with late fall NB gorgeousness, rushing water, waterfalls, masked afternoon date at @ontheboardwalkcafe in Florenceville, fabulous hospitality from our dear friends at @manicorganicfarm, and this little bit of henna for my dear friend and soul-sister Karie, because she is so awesome. This has been a challenging time in New Brunswick this weekend with Covid spiking in 2 of our zones. I hope that those currently diagnosed make full recoveries, and wishing safety, good health, patience and endurance to everyone here to keep on doing what is needed to get this spike back under control. We can do this.

Today I tested the waters with bringing glitter tattoos and a whole list of pre-agreed upon safety protocols (2 pages) to a small birthday celebration. Things went very well, and I will use today's experience to help tweak the procedures to hopefully re-introduce revised Glitter Tattoo services to my Covid-times activities. It was quite lovely to help put smiles on the kids' faces today... At least I think they were smiling... We were all masked up of course!! LOL!

Community mask update! I'm back at my sewing machine taking and filling orders for the most comfiest face huggers ever. Here are the details of what I'm making: Pleated mask (adult or child size) 2 layers 100% pre-shrunk, woven cotton... Sewn-in soft jersey yarn ties for better fit and comfort Nose wire (heat and rust proof) sewn in, vital if you don't want foggy glasses Pattern options are in grid photo below - some patterns are in very limited supply (first come first served) Adult: ~8.25" x 3", expands to ~5" to cover the nose and mouth Child: ~6.25" x 2.25", expands to ~4.25" to cover the nose and mouth Narrow sides allow for better fit in front of the ear and greater comfort No elastic means no ear pain or ear ulcers and they are latex-free, however you can certainly tie the ties at the sides and use them as ear loops (flexible options!) Remember, these community masks are to help prevent the spread of your germs to others only, by catching droplets when you speak moistly or when you sneeze or cough and are not replacements for medical grade masks Ties are black and inner liner is white or beige in colour $15 each (plus shipping, for mail orders) E-transfer is preferred, but I'm also okay with washing our plastic cash if necessary Can mail within Canada, or to the USA, or you can pickup from my mailbox in Fredericton NB

Well friends, the goal was to keep the Open Air Studio open till Oct 10, but as always, that was weather dependent. Mother Nature has decided to close the studio for me, with a week of cold damp weather ahead. My bare hands cannot create art in the cold, and henna does not stain well on cold skin. So, thanks to everyone who enjoyed warm, sunny henna times with me this summer, and please stay tuned for some fresh new ideas for my supply store... Including actually finally getting the website done... Finally! And, as things develop, I will keep you all posted about in-studio or at-home events again. We are very lucky in NB and Atlantic Canada with how we are dealing with Covid, but this is still a global pandemic, and I'm happy to err on the side of caution in order to protect each other.

Thanks to Michelle, Alana and Libby for coming to Fredericton for some henna time with me. Glad that the drive was spectacular with autumn's splendour! I've missed henna-ing people this season... So these appointments on my deck are very special indeed. ... Hope to see more of you over the next week or so!
