Skill Is Skill No Matter How You Get It. Welcome to the #1 Team in South Surrey|White Rock! ** We are open and accepting new members in a safe training environment with recommendations followed through WorkSafe BC, Provincial Health and ViaSport BC .** ... Experience our three phase based approach to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We ensure that everything we teach is structured to help you succeed at your own pace. As a point...where traditional Jiu Jitsu instruction fails, is that when a submission, sweep, guard pass, escape or takedown is shown, it is shown without flow or hypothetical direction during a training session. No real connections are made within each sub-section. So questions continue... What happens in-between? How did you get there? What do you do if it fails? What are going to be the common reactions of your opponent? And how can you effectively connect everything seamlessly? From our point of view, everything in Jiu Jitsu, if taught correctlycan not only connect and relate, but build into a foundation of unlimited answers. Book your FREE class today and see the Dragon’s Den Elite|Carlos Machado BJJ difference. #jiujitsu #bjj #mma #brazilianjiujitsu #dragonsdenelite #jiujitsulifestyle #bjjlifestyle #muaythai #grappling life #martialarts #fitness #kickboxing #wrestling #nogi #boxing #bjjlife #selfdefense #bjjgirls #jiujitsulife #training #1 #carlosmachadobjj #carlosmachadojiujitsuassociation

BOXING MEMORIES DURING COVID. Getting Ready For When The Time Comes One of our best boxing athletes to ever glove up started back in ‘14 as one of our junior competition team members. Known for his aggressive forward moving style, a potent jab and a unique uncompromised defense, boxing team alumni Lucas Collette will always be remembered for his unselfish willingness to learn, share and give as a team player. The memories of legacies past ...help to define what we all strive to become in the present. Thanks Lucas for leaving your legacy for others to follow. When the time is right we will be ready to instruct, mentor and coach the next generation of boxing athletes and recreational members when the worst of the pandemic is over. To personal victory in the new year 2021.

Provincial Closure Order Update December 2nd, 2020 For all of our members,... We received an update from our ViaSport BC contacts and alternative message boards, From K. Hubble Hi Everyone, Shortly after the live BC Government Covid-19 update this afternoon, the following information was posted on the news section of the BC Government website: All indoor adult team sport is also prohibited. This includes basketball, cheerleading, combat sports, martial arts, floor hockey, floor ringette, ice hockey, ringette, netball, skating, soccer, squash and volleyball. Based on this statement, Donna has asked that I notify all clubs that they must suspend all activities until at least December 7th, the end of the current Provincial restriction. Judo BC is seeking to clarify this situation with the BC Health Authorities and Via Sport. We will provide more information as soon as we have it. We hope to have the new safety guidelines in place once we know what changes (if any) need to be made. We have a clip of today’s weekly briefing about this from the provincial health officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry (below).

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BJJ CLUB We belong to a select fraternity of like minded schools, gyms and training facilities that offer the very best of brazilian jiu jitsu instruction to the various communites across the greater vancouver regional district. As the uncertainty of the provincial health orders suspension of adult based sporting activities (jiu jitsu included) is still in question, now is the time for your support of your local bjj facility. Whether with your contin...ued financial or partial financial support, a text or message to your bjj instructor giving them some words of support or offering other ways of showing that your still in their corner, every gesture made is the difference between coming back when the order eventually expires or having to find another school in which to practice and train. To all in the bjj community, wishing you all the very best over the holiday season and to better fortunes in the new year. See more

GET ROLLING INTO THE NEW YEAR Our last Kids SOLO BJJ class of the year is in the books with a quick flow drill lesson using our adaptive SOLOFLO applied techniques. Fundamental basics using ’stacking methods’ develop physical and mental memory which can then be applied and drilled at a later time when partners and cohorts are re-introduced.

To Our Valued Facility Members Updated for December 7th,2020. Here are the latest results of the provincial health order that has been extended until January 8th,2021. ... We are still open for individual recreational training, shadow boxing, individual WOD’s, light rope work and private training etc. Unfortunately, we are not open for competitive training unless it is professional athletes, provincial and national level athletes due to provincial orders and following protocol. Our adult boxing, kickboxing and brazilian jiu jitsu classes unfortunately are temporarily on hiatus until the next provincial health officers decision on adult based team (group|partner) training. We will be open for our kids, youth and teen classes as per the usual times. Teens must still make use of our online booking system in order to maintain the mandated capacity limits. Our adult members are still welcome to come in and use basic provided equipment, the individual training pads and keep yourself fit and healthy through these difficult times. The COVID protocols including on-line booking to capacity, social distancing and mask use must be followed as we have always done. WE WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS STARTING ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 23RD AND WILL RE-OPEN MONDAY, JANUARY 4TH, 2021. We are expected to go back to a normal schedule after January 8th at the earliest depending on future provincial covid numbers. But for now we have been mandated back to an updated ViaSport BC return to sport phase 2.5. Thank you for your continued understanding with our ever changing efforts in keeping our facility open during this pandemic. Master|Coach S.P. Lapre Dragon’s Den Elite Combat Sports

To our valued Dragon’s Den Elite family, Dr. Bonnie stated today that the government was unable to figure out the guidelines for Martial Arts to re-open this coming Monday. Maybe it would have been a prudent for her to have seen how we’ve done our safety protocols since June. As a result she has shut us down for yet another week. She stated that we have a number of good plans in place (submitted by businesses over the past few weeks). ...But to be safe based on the numbers announced today, we need to stay closed for another week while they develop current guidelines for us (and everyone else) to re-open. We are so sorry to everyone that look forward to the classes and programs we provide. If the closure goes beyond the next week we are working on a contingency (albeit a limited one). This next week will be used to develop the contingency plan in the likelihood the closure goes beyond what the government has ordered. Stay tuned. Respectfully, Master|Coach S.P. TO ALL OF OUR MEMBERS Effective Tuesday November 24th,2020. ... To our valued Martial arts family. We have been forced by the Provincial government and Fraser health to suspend all operations at Dragon’s Den Elite Combat Sports. The reason is because the government thus far has been unable to develop protocols for everyone to follow. This is NOT a health related closure. In my communications with Fraser Health, other instructors and with our legal team, I have been told that there is mass confusion for covid safety fitness and return to sport protocols and that it is being worked on as we speak. The earliest we could be back in providing what we’ve been doing since June (for covid safety) is thursday and if not we will inform you of an approximate date. Any further news or updates will be emailed and posted on facebook, our website or instagram social media platforms. We are doing everything we can to stay open but it’s not for lack of trying. The protocols the government will put in place will probably be less then what we have now. We are ready to go as soon as the provincial health authorities figure things out. Please watch for further updates either on cable or social media and let us know if there is something that can assist us (in case we’ve missed it.) We are so grateful for your continued support and patience while we (yet again) go through another round of closures. Respectfully, Master|Coach S. P. Lapre Dragon’s Den Elite Combat Sports
