These pictures were taken in different seasons but all in the last year and in a small area near and around my home. This beauty and diversity a microcosm representative of the natural world I am hoping for some good to come out of the bad. This situation already has opened our eyes and made us fully aware that the decision we make and the things that we do effect not just ourselves but can impact the lives of everyone in our community, our country, the world. I have some questions about the public advisories issued globally by WHO and reiterated identically by Health Canada regarding the urgent call for self isolation stressing the importance of staying in our homes and to not go outside for any reason but an emergency I question if we have been given the best advice here and I question the absence of what I believe is additional and equally important guidance and advice. Advisories are issued with the goal of preventing the spre...ad of this virus minimizing the risk of people contacting it. In addition to washing our hands and isolation, strengthening our immune systems is an effective and integral step to reducing the risk of infection for yourself, your family and in turn every one else. The air quality in our homes is 2-5% more toxic and detrimental to our health than the air we breathe outdoors. Cleaning and personal care products are main contributors of pollution in our homes Aerosols like Lysol disinfectant sprays, dryer sheets, fabric softeners, dishwashing liquid, scented plug ins and synthetic candles contain the highest and most harmful amounts of toxic chemicals that can weaken your immune system and cause serious illnesses mainly those effecting the respiratory system such as asthma and allergies. People suffering from chronic illnesses such as cancer and heart disease, those who have diabetes, asthma and other respiratory disorders have been cautioned of their vulnerability and been told to stay in their homes. What they and all of us have not advised to do is to minimize or eliminate the use of products that are detrimental to our health and increase our risk of getting sick. Beautiful Pine. I love this tree for so many reasons but I feel it is in the winter that it's magnificence is amplified as this season seems to bring out and highlight it's very best aspects. The smell of pine is richer, sweeter and more defined when walking in snowy woods in wintertime then in any other season. I use this tree very often for lots of things but mostly for making medicines and teas. Pine needles are a natural source of vitamin C and is known for have strong a...ntioxidant properties. I'll share with you my recipe for Pine Needle Tea so if you want you can make it too Pine Needle Tea Forage your pine needles from a tree that is set as further back as possible from streets or roads. Make sure you positively identify the type of pine as an edible species. Pick the lightest green needles you can reach as these are freshest new growth of the tree.
