PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE IS THE KEY !!! Saving you money on costly repairs , downtime , damage to your appliances and protecting your home. Hello everyone !!! I hope everyone is healthy and well . I wanted to share some pics and info from over the last year to remind you of the importance of preventative maintenance. I have been seeing a lot of homes being damaged from leaking Refrigerators , washing machines , and dishwasher water inlet lines etc... Also Refrigerators are b...eing pushed to close to the wall impeding the water lines and not allowing good airflow over the condenser. Many washing machines are to close to the wall and the water inlet hoses are rubbing on the wall causing leaking .Dryer ducting is pinched and the ducting is restricted inside and the outside venting assy is restricted not functioning properly. Dishwashers and all appliances with water can have very small leaks and can go undetected causing serious issues and water damage over time . Water leak detectors can help as well. I have many posts on my page explaining in depth what to look for and how to do basic preventative maintenance if you are comfortable doing so. Fall is here and now is a great time for checking your appliances . PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE = LONGEVITY Hello everyone !!! I hope 2020 is treating you and your family well. Just wanted to remind everyone on the importance of preventative maintenance again . Seeing a lot dishwashers lately that are failing due to restricted filters and pumps . It's important to clean your filter on a regular basis and get the water hot at the sink first before running your dishwasher. Vinegar is a great cleaning product as well in most cases ( Always check w...ith your manufacturer first ) Cleaning Refrigerator condensers , Dryer venting , Ducting , Washing machine pump filters ( If accessible ) and the Bellows on front load washers is very important . I do recommend getting water leak detectors as they can help in early detection of leaking and they are very inexpensive. DRAKE'S APPLIANCE REPAIR & MORE !!! Takes you to the front lines of Appliance Repair 101. Hello everyone !!! I wanted to share a few pics from the last few weeks of service to bring awareness and remind everyone the importance of preventative maintenance again. Checking those water lines , Drain hoses , Cleaning your fridge condenser , Cleaning your pump filter on your washer , Checking for leaks on your dishwasher , Vacuuming the lint from your dryer and yes cleaning out bi...rd nests in your dryer venting etc... is incredibly Important !!! Most of us are very busy and it's easy to forget and to find the time to do some preventative maintenance isn't always easy. I will always advise you to replace rather than repair if I feel it's in your best interest . Once again I wanted to remind everyone about the importance in my personal opinion of being home when using your appliances . I was recently at a service call for a very nervous customer as the smell of burning plastic and the sound of popping sounds coming from her dishwasher where happening as she was doing her dishes. Fortunately the customer was home and was able to react and get the situation under control before it possibly could have escalated. This is a few pics of what I found !!! The board assy was partially melted and burnt in her dishwasher. More Tech Tips from DRAKE'S APPLIANCE REPAIR !!! Hello everyone ! SMALL LEAKS !!! can turn into expensive damages to your home and cause major appliance repairs. Seeing many water leaks lately and in some cases expensive insurance claims due to water damage to floors , ceilings etc.. An ounce of prevention can save a pound of misery when it comes to water damage in your home . It usually only takes a few minutes to look at the complete water source on your appliances and mak...e sure there isn't any leaks starting or existing anywhere . I do recommend water leak detectors which are very inexpensive and I have had customers use them and call me many months later thanking me , as the detector did it's job saving their home and appliances major water damage. I am going to look into carrying water leak detectors as regular stock in the near future . You can purchase them at most Plumbing / Hardware stores etc. I really hope this Tech Tip helps everyone from any unnecessary water issues . Another Tech Tip from DRAKE'S APPLIANCE REPAIR ! Hello again everyone ! I have seen an increase lately in restricted dryer venting and ducting as well the condensers on refrigerators restricted with dust etc.. The restriction of proper airflow can cause major issues for both of these appliances costing you MONEY , down time and it can be a possible fire hazard as well. It's really important to take the time and vacuum and clean these components as needed as well making sure they have room for proper airflow. Hello everyone !!! I hope you and your family are enjoying some wonderful summer fun ! I wanted to mention again how important it is to ask when hiring a trades person if they are a Journeyman and if they are fully licensed , insured and bondable. If you want to hire local which we who live in Cochrane truly appreciate !!! Ask for the business address . Trades people are supposed to carry their TQ ticket with them ( Trade Qualifications ) And show it when asked . Any of us t...hat have a ticket have been to school for many years and have had to work thousands of hours to earn our TQ ! We are proud to show it ! Some companies have apprentices working with them being they are Journeyman and that’s awesome as long as the Journeyman is present etc. Without elaborating I have good reason for reminding everyone again .
