FYI, there was a Purolator transport involved in the three semi crash on Highway 17 today. It does not appear that the Purolator driver was at fault, however, this means that there will be delays in shipments. At this time, I dont know if the truck was heading east or west so I have no idea if incoming shipments are delayed or outgoing shipments are delayed. On this day, this order from the Northwestern Health Unit comes into effect. I can also only allow 12 customers in the store as per the addendum to the order. Please adhere to the physical distancing required. We will work with you to make sure everyone gets their ice cream without everyone having to come into the store all at once as well. This is going to be a long haul as there is no end date on the NWHU order, so please be cool about it.

Reminder: Due to the scheduled power outage tomorrow from 7:00am to 4:00pm, Drayton Cash and Carry store hours will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm only. Dont forget to stock up on those no cook items like European Meats Kielbasa, pepperettes, pepperonis or Thunder Oak Cheeses for snacks! Tomorrow is supposed to be a good day to get outside for a picnic or a bit of fishing. Store is open today (August 15th) until 9:00pm.

So grateful for amazing and generous people in our area. After my garden box was broken, Greg Malcom offered to build me a new box, Kelsey offered me wood so I could build a new box, and Codey Littledeer had a box already built and waiting for a new home. Thank you to everyone who so beautifully stepped up. Special thank you to Codey and Jody for gifting and delivering a new garden box! My day started out a little rough, but it is ending in a lovely way.

Last night one of my garden boxes was broken. It doesnt appear to have been deliberate. I suspect that it was used as a seat since my old rotting picnic table had to be dismantled and removed. The weight of the wet soil combined with teens sitting on it would have been enough to collapse the garden box. As it appears not to have been deliberately damaged, an apology and some help building a new box and picnic table, and staining tomorrow evening - waiting until Tuesday evening as I am sore from starting to fill the beautiful box that was gifted to the store by Codey and Jody Littledeer - (if it isnt raining) would be sufficient compensation. In addition, please leave the flyer containers where they are.

Each one brought to us at Drayton Cash and Carry can be traded for either a 1.00 candy bag or a 1.00 freezie (we decided since it is so hot, freezies will be an option too). Rocks will have a check mark on the back once traded in. We will even let you keep the rock. Thank you to the McCords for sponsoring such a fun event!

The NWHU is mandating masks in public spaces as of August 17th. We do have masks made by my Mom, Ingrid Cummings available in store for $10.00 plus HST. We will not be providing disposable masks as they are too costly. You will see the mandatory signage we have to put up. This is not at the request of either myself or staff. If you object to masks, take it up with the NWHU.

Mmmm popcorn. Makes a rainy day much nicer when your snacks smell this good.

Unfortunately, Rainy River Meats did not arrive today. I dont know when it will be delivered until I hear back from them. Fingers crossed it will be soon! For parcels, please add a few days to expected delivery dates. Things are still delayed with all companies and that is not expected to change soon.

Store hours are changing as of Friday July 17th! New hours will be 11am to 9pm daily. Coolers, shelves, and freezers are restocked thanks to my awesome staff. Keep your eye on this page for announcements of our speed knitting/crochet contest for Blueberry Festival! Get your hooks and needles warmed up. The new mailboxes should be finished being installed soon which will make the lot much less of an adventure. In the meantime, the ice cream is still delicious, the snacks are plentiful, and the coolers are full.

The new mailboxes are being installed today which means the parking lot will be an adventure. Please take care when entering and leaving as there will only be one entry/exit available to use until they are done the work.

Staff are returning to work this week and I am so looking forward to them coming back. Thank all of you for your patience and continued visits with the tired old lady behind the ice cream counter. Have not seen FedEx Ground today. No Hello Fresh has arrived at the store and unfortunately, until it does, I wont have any info on your delivery. People will be texted for pick up when it does arrive if a cell number has been written on the package. Difficult to call people.
