Over the last couple of months our routines have drastically changed. There has been lots of discussion around normalcy, and getting back to ‘normal’. Were there any aspects of your previous ‘normal’ that you don’t really want to bring back? Is there anything about your current ‘normal’ that you would like to maintain once work picks back up? What will be your new normal? This is a great time to start thinking about how you would like to spend the rest of this year. What goals do you have? If you have any health goals you would like some support with, I’m happy to help! #naturopathicmedicine #newnormal #normalcy #healthandwellness #healthgoals

One of the best ways to optimize our health is by understanding what factors negatively affect it. This is where naturopathic medicine shines, as we focus on preventative medicine. We understand what factors contribute to suboptimal health and can cause more and more serious issues as time goes on. By understanding what negatively impacts our health and wellness, we are better equipped to make healthy choices. Diet and lifestyle are powerful tools that we all have to ...improve our experience of energy, sleep, digestion, stress, immune function, and mood on a daily basis. Have you identified what habits are working well for you, and which ones aren't? Are your habits aligned with your health goals? Most likely you are doing things without even knowing the positive or negative effects they are having on your body. Once we understand how our actions affect us, we are more likely and capable of choosing actions that support us. Naturopaths prioritize education with patients so that you understand what tools you have to affect your own health in a positive way. Practice announcement! I am now practicing at 2 separate clinics. As of April 1st, I joined the incredible team at @Moveosportnv Before Moveo Sport and Rehabilitation Centre closed it's doors temporarily due to covid- 19, I had the pleasure and opportunity to spend some time there learning from @drrobynprescott. I feel incredibly grateful to have had the time together that we did, as I was able to learn so much from Dr. Robyn. I'm looking forward to reuniting with ...my Moveo coworkers and future patients that I feel fortunate to be able to work with, in the (hopefully) near future. Until it is safe for our team and patients to re-open our doors, I am happy to be able to provide telemedicine visits to help address your health goals and concerns. See more

Is anyone else enjoying the online accessibility of things we previously had to leave our houses to do? I know I'm really enjoying both the comfort and efficiency of what I am able to accomplish online right now (while doing my best to stay at home). No stress around travel time, or parking! When things start to reopen, I know there are many things I'll feel excited to be able to do again, but also many things I will continue to do remotely. There are lots of things I ...may not have been able to make time for previously, that I now realize I can accomplish with minimal time, online. For me this will look like more workouts from home, scheduling meetings digitally, and offering more telemedicine appointments for my patients. While coming into the clinic is not currently an option, if you would like to get started on your health, telemedicine is a great option. We will be welcoming patients back into the clinic as soon as it is safe to do so, but if you have found that telemedicine is something that will allow you to take care of yourself more efficiently with a busy schedule, know that I will continue to offer this service. Telemedicine is not sufficient for all health concerns, but for minor issues it is a great way to be able to connect with your doctor. If an in-person visit is required, your doctor can let you know to book a follow up as needed. See more

Mental. Physical. Emotional. When we think about self-care, there are 3 important aspects to consider. Our mental, physical, and emotional selves are deeply intertwined and all need to be cared for. We tend to push ourselves in these areas, often under the lens of productivity or feelings of what we should be doing. This is a great time to tune in and see if we can honour each of these parts of ourselves with care and without judgement. Maybe each day we honour a different part of ourselves, or maybe there's something we can do that honours all 3. What are your favourite ways to honour your mind? your body? your emotions? #wellness #mentalhealth #physicalhealth #emotionalhealth #emotionalintelligence #naturopathicmedicine #movement #mindfullness

In so many ways, this time is allowing us to connect with our innate intelligence. More time to be present, more time to understand ourselves, and in that, more time for creativity. Are there areas in your life where you can remember your creativity? Cooking, art, dance, music, sport, even just freedom of thought? Enjoy this space and time to be creative with your time now, and with what you can imagine for yourself moving forward. #creativity #mentalhealth #selfcare #brainhealth #intelligence #foodforthought #naturopathicmedicine #presence

Movement. Over this past month, I haven't felt motivated to maintain my normal level of activity. Sports have been a constant in my life so this has felt strange, but it has made me consider my whys behind my activities. I realize now that movement and sport were synonymous with socializing and fun. I always played on different sports teams and have connected with many of my closest friends through sport. Right now there's no social aspect to movement, therefore th...e experience of sport and my motivation to get out has changed. As I tune in more to what I do want to do right now, I find I'm craving slow and gentle types of movement that help move the stagnant mental and emotional energy that I'm feeling. This has looked like more walks, more stretching, and the occasional online class. How has your 'normal' changed? What types of movement are you craving right now? #movement #mentalhealth #sport #physicalhealth #naturopathicmedicine See more

With many of our routines being entirely new over the past month, you may have noticed changes in your health. How is your mood? Digestion? Cognitive function? Sleep? You may have even noticed improvements in your digestion and energy if you have simplified your routine and are cooking more whole foods at home. Alternatively, your body may be processing the stressors in our environment, and therefore sleep, digestion, and hormones are off, and energy is at an all-time ...low. Everyone will be experiencing something unique and different. If you can use support addressing your current health goals and concerns, I am here to help you from the comfort of your home. I am offering visits via telemedicine that you are able to schedule as you would a regular visit online. I am able to call in prescriptions as needed and set you up with your supplement protocols through our online dispensary @Fullscript. Don't hesitate to be in touch. Simultaneously both painfully obvious, and a revelation. How many of you have gone through waves of discomfort around this opportunity for rest? I found the first few weeks really difficult not knowing how to fill my need to feel productive. I didn’t accept the version of myself that wasn’t actively achieving something. I read this in Glennon Doyle’s book Untamed the other day, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Settling a little more into rest and simplicity every day #covid19 #productivity #selfworth #redefiningproductivity

The most incredible thing I’ve seen with this global health crisis is how people have so quickly shifted from individual pursuits to community welfare. Taking care of ourselves is the biggest act of service we can do to keep others safe at this time. Despite physical distancing, people are finding ways to connect with their community, and it feels like a bit of light in this difficult time. We are in this together, eager to learn more, and with care for our community.... I have chosen to continue my practice from home for the time being and am available for phone consults. If anyone feels they could use some support with their health at this time, please feel free to DM me and I will contact you in order to set up a phone consult. I am not able to give any advice regarding covid19, but I am happy to talk about general immune support, and any other health concerns you may be facing. Stay home, keep washing hands, and stay hopeful. Wishing everyone some peace and calm amongst this storm. #thistooshallpass
