Some more evidence that exercise is good for more than just physical health! "Among the 937 participants, those performing 30 min/day of moderate to vigorous or 15 min/day of vigorous physical activity had lower odds of prevalent depressive, anxiety, and co-occurring D&A symptoms. Those spending 10 h/day sedentary were more likely to have depressive symptoms."
Follow along this amazing and wild feat by ultra-endurance runner John Pockler! Wishing him all the best on this beastly journey!
September is PCOS awareness month. Do you have PCOS? Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) affects 6-10% of women of childbearing age. It is characterized by oligomenorrhea (infrequent menstrual periods), high levels of androgens (such as testosterone) - which presents as cystic acne, dark coarse hair on the face, chest, back and other areas (hirsutism) and sometimes cysts on the ovaries along with many other signs, symptoms and other hormonal and metabolic imbalances. myo-Inosi...tol is a molecule which is similar to glucose. However it has research to show that it can help restore normal ovarian function in women with PCOS, aid in glucose metabolism, help improve common symptoms of PCOS like acne, hirsutism and high androgens. However, this supplement is not safe for everyone and you should always consult with your health care provider before starting any natural health products. There are many other things a naturopathic doctor can do to help improve the symptoms, hormonal and metabolic imbalances often experienced by folks with PCOS including diet, lifestyle and herbal interventions. Let’s keep spreading awareness and knowledge about this syndrome!
Just made these tasty vegan cookies - no added sugar, gluten free and super addictive! I used peanut butter in my recipe because is there any better combo than banana, peanut butter and chocolate?? See the 2nd picture for the recipe Directions: Preheat oven to 350... Combine mashed bananas with wet ingredients, mix well. Then add dry ingredients slowly to wet and mix well. Put in the oven for 15-17 minutes and enjoy after letting them cool! More recipes like these can be offered through my personalized meal plans (I can add fun recipes like this one into your plans mixed in with healthier ones)
