Dr Bunt is incredibly passionate about helping kids like Conner. We see a lot of these varying types of behaviours that can be hughly impacted with opening the airway with the help of a program like Healthy Start and myofunctional therapy, releasing a tongue tie, and treating sleep disordered breathing. it is very rewarding to us too!

Sleep Apnea & Snoring Solutions: Whether you have tried CPAP and it didnt work or you simply want a less invasive oral treatment method, Dr Bunt can help. He has extensive training in diagnosing and treating Sleep Disordered Breathing including Sleep Apnea. Sleep Apnea is very often undiagnosed. It can be caused by a tissue obstruction, misaligned jaw or a collapsing tongue partially blocking the airway. An oral appliance helps to stop this by gently moving the lower jaw an...d tongue forward. With more room at the back of the throat, theres less chance of an obstruction during sleep causing snoring or sleep apnea. Each appliance is custom fit using the latest digital CAD-CAM technology, ensuring a comfortable fit and a good nights sleep. The device is lightweight yet highly durable to grinding, biocompatible and removable. If you feel you are affected by poor quality sleep give us a call today for an initial assessment.

Do you have tooth sensitivity? Is it ouchy when you eat ice cream? Do you grind or clench your teeth at nighttime? Sensitive teeth happens when the protective enamel on the tooth is damaged due to a cavity or crack in the tooth or when receding gums or periodontal disease exposes the nerves at the root of the tooth. When the nerve chamber is exposed to air, hot or cold or acidic drinks you can have symptoms of discomfort.... Tooth sensitivity can be prevented by: 1. Keeping teeth and gums healthy by brushing and flossing regularly, at least twice a day and preferably before bedtime, to remove the sticky plaque that holds bad bacteria on the teeth and gums. 2. Use a desensitizing toothpaste like Sensodyne or crest sensitivity that has potassium nitrate to seal the tiny tubules in the dentin part of the tooth and protect the nerve. 3. Brush gently! Use a soft toothbrush with a gentle downward sweeping motion from the gums to the tips of the teeth using a circular motion. 4. Reduce your intake of acidic foods and sugary snacks and drinks. We do see more acid erosion in patients that drink a lot of pop and energy drink or sugary coffee drinks. If you regularly put lemons in your water and drink through the day try switching it up with other fruits or cucumbers which are less acidic. If tooth sensitiv does not go away after several weeks of using a desensitizing toothpaste you should have a dentist examine the area. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!

"I may not be able to provide hands on dentistry during the COVID-19 pandemic but I'm still here to care for you. Do you or a friend have a dental concern or perhaps a toothache and your not sure what to do. I'm here to answer questions, and help address concerns via free consultations over the phone or via email. Feel free to share with anyone you know that may just need some reassurance that its not too bad or maybe a referral to the oral surgeon in Belleville who is curre...ntly open for emergency dental treatment. I care about keeping our spirits up and doing everything I can to keep our community connected and keep toothaches out of the emergency department. Our front line workers are dealing with a lot - this is a small way that I can help. Feel free to email me from the contact form on our website, or give me a call on my cell phone 613-885-4534. If you include a photo it will help as well. We are in this together! #WeStillCare" See more

We all feel like there are so many things that we cannot control right now. However, the one thing we can control is how well we take care of our teeth especially during this time with dental office's closed, it is even more important. Here are a few tips to strive for with at home care: 1. Floss daily - you can use any type or floss or floss picks or threaders. The most basic floss is very effective at getting between your teeth where the toothbrush cannot get to. 2. Brush...ing 2 times per day for 2 minutes at least with a fluoridated toothpaste. We do know that a good electric brush is more effective than a manual brush if used properly. But manual brushing is high effective if brushing effectively. It is especially important to brush before bedtime to remove all the bacteria/food from your teeth overnight. 3. Tongue scraping - you can use your toothbrush or a tongue scraper to remove build up/bacteria from your tongue. This also goes a long way to help with bad breath as well. 4. Try to avoid snacking between meals and especially sugary sticky snacks that leave a film on your teeth that bacteria love. 5. Try to drink lots of water throughout the day to keep flushing your mouth and teeth. 6. Limit alcohol consumption and smoking. #oralhealthmonth #covid19 #staysafe #stayhealthy

We are able to treat emergencies, including traumatic injury, unmanageable pain or serious infection, but all other treatments are being postponed. We are here for you if you have a dental emergency or are not sure what to do. Call Dr Bunt at 613-885-4534 or email us from our website: whitesroaddental.com. We promise to respond as quick as possible. You can also learn what you can do to take care of your oral health at home at https://bit.ly/3dZefQW

April is Oral Health Month. And usually we have lots of discussion and fun stuff in the office to celebrate this important month. This year is quite a bit different. Instead of the face to face discussion about improving home care and maintaining our dental health, we have social media to get the message out. I wanted to start with a fun one you can incorporate into your kids home schooling. If you post back to us either as a photo with the 5 differences circled or written down, your name will go in a draw for a movie package. Something to look forward to when we can all get out again!
