'Twas the eve before Christmas, when arrived at our house, An Amazon package; a scarf and a blouse; No trips to the Mall, we shopped online instead, It's so nice to go shopping and not leave your bed.... The masks were all hung by the chimney so neat, with space in between them for safety - six feet. The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of school friends danced in their heads. And Mamma in her kerchief and I in my robe, Thought of how this was different for folks 'round the globe. This year was peculiar for one and for all, We're safe and we're healthy, our problems so small. When out on the street there arouse such a racket, I jumped out of bed and threw on my jacket. I ran down the stairs an threw open the door, The Courier had left us a box - just one more. The moon was so full and it glowed, oh so bright The trees were all sparkling with snow flakes of white. When what to my wondering eyes did I see, 'Twas the reindeer and Santa, wearing red PPE. More rapid than Fed-Ex, his coursers they flew, Their paws sanitized, and the toys were all too. Santa called to remind them, stay safe and observe, And remember, we're trying to flatten the curve. Now Dasher, now Dancer and to all the rest, He guided them gently, for he was the best The world's greatest driver, a real pro sledder When it came to the toys, the world's best super spreader. And then in a twinkling, I heard on the shingles, The jolly old gent and his laugh and his jingles. For him, handing toys out was just academic, And he wouldn't be stopped by a world-wide pandemic. He was dress all in red, and along with his sack, He traversed down the chimney, and raced to his snack. The milk was refreshing, the cookies delicious, He ate them all up, though they weren't so nutritious. Did he still hold a pipe in his teeth, you may ask, But he didn't you see, you can't smoke with a mask. So he scurried about putting toys in their place, And with disinfectant, he wiped down the space. For he knew in the morning, the kids would be keen, To learn he had come, even with no vaccine. The toys would be waiting, the children would fuss And with no curb-side pick-up outside Toy's R' Us. The work was complete now, he could finally stop racing, He hoped there was no need to use contact tracing. Then laying a finger aside of his cheek, He was magically back in his sleigh, so to speak. With his seat belt now buckled, he wiped down his hands And so to his reindeer he gave the commands But I heard him exclaim as his team drove away "Santa's still got the magic! Who needs E-Bay?" If you’re experiencing knee pain while exercising, avoid doing full-depth lunges, plyometrics (like box jumps), hurdler stretch, and deep squats.
