Good Morning folks! We are in the office today preparing the return to our routine eye care tomorrow, as announced previously! We have been making calls for the last week re-booking patients that had appointments booked before we had to shut down. We are following recommendations from our regulatory body and our government. We are asking patient to wear a MASK when you come in, this is for your safety and ours as well. ... We are prioritizing existing patients and healthcare patients, but are still taking new patients, keep in mind that appointments may not be as readily available as they have been in the past given that we are limited to how many patients we can see in one day. We ask your cooperation and understanding during this re-opening period. It is different, but we are in it together! We will inform you of any requirements and protocol when you book your appointment and will be adapting them as the recommendations evolve and as the situation evolves. Have a great day! Good news! We got confirmation today that we can go back to routine eyecare on JUNE 5th!! For the patients who had appointments booked prior to the mandatory shutdown in March, we will be reaching out shortly to get you booked in. We have to change how we do things, scheduling will be different and protocol will be different, but keep in mind that it is for everyones safety!... Another week begins, we are still not allowed to do routine eyecare, but we are thinking and putting together protocol for when we will be able to return. Things will be different, like they will be everywhere, and we will follow our protocol and appreciate that our patients will too. To give you guys some time to get prepared for when you can come in, we want you to know that a face mask will be required to come into the practice.... This doesnt have to be a N95 mask, but we take this seriously and you will be required to wear some form of face covering (covering nose and mouth) to be able to come see us! We are hoping we can get back to work soon! We will be posting updates as we learn what is permitted! We will continue to have pick-ups by appointment for our oatients that need contact lenses, dry eye products (artificial tears, etc.) and for emergency eyecare if required. We are working on protocols and trying to figure out how we will be doing things when we are allowed back! It feels like we might be able to get back to seeing our patients and providing the best eyecare we can soon, we remain hopeful, our province is doing better and the numbers are looking promising! Given the State of Emergency declared by the Government of Nova Scotia this morning, we sadly have to close our doors for the next 14 days. We will be contacting patients to reschedule their appointments starting Monday April 6th, at which time we will be operating during limited hours and under exteme precaution, unless the Stage of Emergency is prolonged. We are still open, following strict guidelines based on recommendations from the authorities. On non patient days (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) we will be taking calls but will not be physically in the office after today. This means that if you have contact lens orders or drops that you need to come pick up please do so between the hours of 12PM to 7PM on Thursdays, 9AM to 5PM on Mondays and Fridays.... If you show any signs of conjunctivitis (pink eye, red eye) or any ocular symptoms of a non routine nature, please call us before coming in and we will deal with cases on a case by case basis. For the safety and well being of our patients, customers and staff, we ask that you reschedule your appointment if any of the following apply to you.... - If you have a fever and/or difficulty breathing. - You have had any international travel since March 8, 2020. - You have been in close contact with a person with an acute respiratory disease that has travelled to an infected area within 14 days of his/her illness - You have been in close contact with a person as a probable case or having confirmed Covid-19 - You had laboratory exposure to biological material (e.g.: primary clinical samples, viral cultures) known to contain Covid-19.
