The Office is finally ready. We have doors on the operatories, Hepa air purifiers in all dental treatment rooms and PPE supplies. We are slowly getting back to being able to treat urgent dental concerns and emergencies. Covid -19 has changed the way we operate so at the current time we cannot accomodate the same volume of patients as in the past. Please be patient while we try to accomodate everyone as soon as we can.

Dentists are following the guidance formulated by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, which was developed in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health and Public Health Ontario. Dentists have always followed strict safety protocols and now have even more enhanced procedures to keep patients, staff and themselves protected during the pandemic. The dental team you see when you go for an appointment is a tight-knit group based on trust and respec...t for each others roles. Dentists are working with every member of their teams to make sure everyone feels ready and safe to provide treatment to patients in need. Many dental offices have not yet fully reopened because they are in the process of meeting safety requirements. This includes making sure there is enough PPE for all staff, and where required, changing the office layout to meet physical distancing requirements and possible upgrades to equipment. Dentists are health-care professionals and are absolutely committed to the safety of everyone in the dental office. Dentists have also collaborated on a set of Guiding Principles with the dental regulatory colleges and associations in Ontario. Dental health is a key part of overall health and well-being. Many dentists responded to the pandemic by donating their PPE to frontline medical workers, while others continued to provide emergency care to people in need. With dental offices largely closed for almost three months, we need to get back to treating our patients, so their long-term health doesnt suffer. See more

Yes, the provincial government is now allowing health-care providers to gradually resume all services. This means that dentists can slowly begin seeing more patients for more types of treatments again. While this is good news, it doesnt mean its back to business as usual or that the office is open right now. There is still a pandemic happening and were taking extra precautions to ensure everyones protection against the spread of COVID-19. This could take some time..., so please be patient. Im currently waiting for the revised guidelines from my regulator, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. Before I can be ready to treat you, we must meet all updated safety requirements. You can expect some changes to the office when you come in, and well explain them to you when we schedule your appointment. I will contact you once I can safely open my practice. The health and safety of my patients and my dental team is my top priority. I look forward to seeing you and your family soon. See more

The following clarifies the definition of emergency and is consistent with our statement of March 15, 2020. The College strongly recommends all non-essential and elective dental services are suspended immediately. Emergency treatment should continue. What is a "true emergency situation"?...
