Not Just for golfersThe overhead deep squat is an essential movement for avid gym enthusiasts to weekend warriors. When we think of "leg day" our go to is usually the back squat but is our form checked before we load it? If we are too posteriorly pelvic tilted and we load a barbell, our spines and their discs are unprotected and susceptible to injury. If we compensate with an anterior pelvic tilt, we just engage that Butt wink earlier than intended since mo...st of us have shortened hip flexors to start with #driving&sitting. Now imagine seeing someone that can help with proper mobility in their movements, add some yards to the swing and improve consistency in the golf game. Find a Titleist Performance Institute certified practioner near you to help with your functional movement and in this case to tighten your core and engage your glutes! As the sunshine and rain clouds slowly stop their battling for control of the weather, June golf season is finally here! Asides from keeping that rain jacket and waterproof golf shoes handy, we may start to see carts driving on the course again and not just "PATHS ONLY." This is a quick way to get around on the course but I always find it is more difficult to find your parter's ball and then your own (because you outdrove them by 35 yards). For those of us looking for that extra bit of exercise here is some info for the best way to lug your clubs around! Back pain can be avoidable and we should start being proactive at all ages! #TPIewr TPI http://www.mytpi.com//should_golfers_push_pull_or_carry_th

Can muscle or tendon tears be the cause of shoulder pain? Sure! BUT There are many people living with these structural findings who are asymptomatic. Before you go under the knife, do some research and try a less invasive approach! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bUf9VcYLmI&sns=fb

The majority of DCs jump into practice as soon as they earn their diplomas to start helping their communities. This is obviously awesome since that's what we itch to do while going through the long and strenuous program. The only negative of this is that not enough of us are conducting research- which in today's world is necessary to present to the general public, other health care providers and in furthering our profession. Not that I agree completely with it but Randomized control trials are the gold standard and anecdotal evidence only reaches so far in the science community- SO I'm happy that some of my peers are still involved in the research world! In saying that- take a look at this http://jamanetwork.com/journ/jama/article-abstract/2616395
