Dear friends, family, colleagues and followers, We currently find ourselves in an unforeseen circumstance given the current global climate as it pertains to public health and the effects of COVID-19. We are very saddened to inform you that our venue for A Kid Like Jake, the PAL Studio Theatre, has made the decision to lock the theatre for the foreseeable future based on the recommendations, guidance, and direction of the Public Health Agency of Canada and HealthLink BC. As su...ch, it is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision that we will not be able to move forward and our production of A Kid Like Jake will not be going up at the end of April as planned. Our intention is to explore future dates for this production of A Kid Like Jake, but due to the uncertainty of the effects of COVID-19, we would like to wait until we know enough information to make a concrete decision about how and when to move forward. As you can imagine, dream of passion productions and other arts organizations will see significant losses due to the impacts of postponing their productions. Fay Nass is the Artistic Director of The Frank Theatre and the founder and Artistic Director of Aphotic Theatre. Fay has been working as a director, dramaturg, writer, curator, educator and consultant for the past 15 years in Vancouver. Her most recent credits include: co-directing Trans Script Part 1: The Wom...en (produced by The Frank theatre & Zee Zee at Firehall Arts Centre), directing She Mami Wata & the Pussy WitcHunt (the Frank Theatre at PuSh Festival 2020), co-directing Straight White Men (ITSAZOO productions at Gateway Theatre), dramaturgy of Camera Obscura (Hungry Ghosts) (The Frank Theatre & QAF), directing and devising Diaspora: Queer immigrant and refugee stories (The Frank Theatre at QAF), cultural consultation and curation of residency programs with North Van Art and Culture office, curation and producing of Another Window Cabaret (Aphotic theatre and Neworld Theatre). Fay holds an MFA from Simon Fraser University and continues to explore notions of gender, sexuality and culture through research based practices.
