(5)Keep it up6Ft UPDATE for our patients & parents : 1. Currently our office remains CLOSED as we prepare for a SAFE, RESPONSIBLE and SUSTAINABLE reopening. Please read this communique for further information and instruction. ... 2. As mentioned previously, we have been choosing a CAUTIOUS approach when deciding when to reopen. While we are very eager to resume providing care, the dental team’s safety, our patient’s safety and safety of the community is our number one priority. On that basis, we are watching closely the encouraging but still lingering numbers of Covid19. We are hoping that community transmission and all the related numbers will CONTINUALLY TREND FURTHER DOWNWARD; even in the midst of all these reopenings in Ontario. Note that this virus never gets weakened; just less prevalent due to the lockdowns. As seen in resurgences around the world, it’ll welcome any chances we nonchalantly throw at it by letting our guards down now that Ontario is reopening in full throttle 3. Please don’t undermine the efforts to control this UNSTABLE pandemic. Please follow the rules of 3 W's : - Wear a - Watch your distance 6Ft - Wash your hands These are critical for keeping our communities safe and healthy, keeping businesses open and getting people back to work. 4. In the mean time, at the practice we are continuing the preparation based on enhanced RCDSO guideline, - implementing safety measures & physical distancing standards, - redesigning the physical space, - rethinking the logistics and daily schedule which have to abide with the guideline’s safety restrictions - procuring PPE, new equipment - adding air purifiers to reinforce the HVAC system ........... These are just but a few of the miscellaneous to-dos. Many new equipment and backordered PPE are slowly but steadily arriving. There have been a lot of researching, procuring, changing the physical space, waiting for our orders to arrive; learning and safety training. Once all these NEW NORMAL measures and protocols are in place; more crucially once the COMMUNITY TRANSMISSION is LOW we can ensure a SAFE, RESPONSIBLE & SUSTAINABLE access to care, we will be in touch to schedule your appointment. 5. As before, if you have a dental emergency, please call us and leave a CLEAR and detailed message. We’ll do our best to assess you remotely and determine how you should proceed. If your emergency requires immediate treatment, we may need to refer you to other dental offices who deemed themselves ready. 6. Only with continuous effort from everyone in our communities will we soon see the light at the end of the tunnel! Thanks once again for your cooperation and patience!
(4) UPDATE for our patients & parents : Presently our office is still CLOSED for dental care. Please read this communique for further instruction. On May 27, the chief medical officer of health suddenly issued a directive allowing dentists in Ontario to resume normal dental procedures as long as specific safety protocols and measures are in place. This was announced just 5 days after we were told it’s NOT SAFE to move to the next stage yet. ... Because of this sudden move in the presence of significant community transmission, we are seeking further clarification and guidance from our Government and College. The number of new cases daily is NOT steadily declining for ANY significant number of straight days. The State of Emergency in Ontario also currently remains in effect. For these reasons, OUR OFFICE has CHOSEN to take a CAUTIOUS approach when DECIDING WHEN to re-open. While we are very eager to resume providing care, the dental team’s safety, our patient’s safety and safety of the community is our number one priority. As such, we will remain closed for the time being. In the mean time, we are very busy preparing the practice: implementing new safety measures & physical distancing standards, procuring PPE (the holy grail), redesigning the physical space, rethinking the logistics, adding air purifiers to the HVAC system, to name a few. A lot of researching, learning and training. Once all these new normal measures and protocols are in place; more crucially once the COMMUNITY PREVALENCE IS LOW we can ensure a SAFE & SUSTAINABLE access to care, we will be in touch to schedule your appointment. As before, if you have a dental emergency, please call us and leave a CLEAR and detailed message. We’ll do our best to assess you remotely and determine how you should proceed. Due to global shortage as well as allocation ordered by the Government, our office like most dental offices are not supplied with adequate PPE. If your emergency requires immediate treatment, you may need to visit a dental office already outfitted with all the new safety measures and proper PPE. A list of emergency dental practices with these criteria can be found on our College's website : www.rcdso.org Thanks once again for your patience! Only with continuous effort from our communities, will we soon see the light at the end of the tunnel !
