Wishing on the past gets us no where. Taking charge of what we can - the future - gives us the ability to change what we want. . . I when patients tell me they’re ready to start making changes for a better future for their health .... . wether they want to test their hormones to see whats causing their PMS, wonky periods, or breakouts . or they want to get to the root of their digestive issues . or they’re curious about what things they should do prior to considering conceiving . . Taking charge of your health allows you to plan better for what the future brings . . : @lizandmollie . . #changewhatyoucan #torontond #bloorwestnd #bloorwestnaturopath See more

By #20weeks in utero, baby has developed taste buds and is learning to prefer the foods that Moma eats . . I’m going to be honest - I was a bit freaked when I first learned this! And that’s mainly because I had horrible morning/ all day sickness (!) for the first... 7 months of my pregnancy (still not back to 100 yet!) .... . Because of this, very few things actually sat well in my stomach meaning I was consuming a lot more processed and white foods than I would’ve liked - BUT I said this to myself over and over (and I say it to my patients as well!) - eat whatever you can stomach! Baby will acquire their vitamins and minerals from the nutritious meals that you consumed pre-pregnancy! . . So - I’m not beating myself up for consuming crackers, popsicles, bagels and goldfish - I’m just intrigued what this little dudes palate is going to be like and I’m hoping that his taste buds picked up on the handful of time’s that I forced greens onto my plate! . . #pregnancy #30weeks #nopickyeater See more

Alright ladies (and gents - you can pass this info along to your lady ) . . I can’t emphasize this enough to my patients and I want to make sure it’s heard loud and clear! .... . PRENATAL VITAMINS are important not just during pregnancy but also BEFORE . . It’s generally recommended to start them at least 3 months prior to conception - meaning that if having a baby is something that’s on your mind - you should hop on those prenatals sooner than later! . . Talk to your ND about which ones are best for YOU! . . #fertility #preconception #prenatal #vitamins See more

Has your pregnancy hormone been checked? . . This is something that will and can easily get overlooked by MDs/ fertility clinics which is why I ALWAYS ask my patients if they know their PROGESTERONE levels when TTC (trying to conceive) .... . That’s because Progesterone PRO GESTATION . . There are ideal/ optimal levels of progesterone that have been studied for fertility . So if you’ve never had your luteal (usually Day 21) progesterone levels checked - then its time to do that! . Your ND can walk you through how to do this and what your values mean - some NDs () can prescribe progesterone if this is something that may support your body on your fertility journey! . . #fertility #progesterone #ttc #ttccommunity #ttcjourney #torontond #bloorwestnd #bloorwestnaturopath See more

Can we all accept the fact that although we had these grand plans when lockdown started (I was learning Spanish, becoming Canada’s next top baker, and re-watching an entire course work of lectures ), this sh** is hard and some things are going to have to wait! . . .
