Dresden & Area Christian Ministerial Association 19.11.2020

We have a location for Sunday Evening in the Park! We're grateful that Total Grain Systems/Sydenham Electric is allowing us to set up on their lot. It's at 1233... North Street, Dresden (where Mid-County Ford used to be) At this point, the plan is to have everyone remain in their vehicles -- although that may change. We'll be using a transmitter to your car radio -- frequency to be determined. We're not sure yet whether you can sit outside on your lawn chairs. Stay tuned. Offering won't be collected the usual way but you can drop it in a bucket on your way in or out. Aug. 2 -- Lighthouse Ministry (Roger & Shirley Pavey) with message from Rev. John Lang of Trinity Christian Centre. Aug. 9 -- The Chapelaires, with Pastor Nichelle Howarth of Dresden Community Church. Aug. 16. -- Derrick Drover, with Rev. Andy Cornell of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Aug. 23 -- Jeff & Tim, with Rev. Barry Kenter of Trinity Christian Centre. Aug. 30 -- Mercy, with Rev. Paul Shaw. Sept. 6 -- One-A-Chord, with Rev. Joe Krohn of Dawn Valley Bible Methodist Church. 7 p.m. start time. Rain location: Dresden Christian Reformed Church, 956 Mooney Street, Dresden.

Hi folks. The organizing committee hasn't given up hope for the 2020 season. One thing we know for sure is that the June 28 season opener is a no-go in Jackson ...Park because the municipality has withdrawn approval for events until the end of June. However, we are encouraged by the recent decision by the Premier of Ontario to allow drive-in worship. At our meeting today we decided to look into the feasibility of offering Sunday Evening in the Park in a similar way. If we can secure an FM transmitter with enough power and our musicians are willing to remain 6-feet apart then we might be able to pull it off in a new location as long as vehicles are also 6-feet apart with windows closed (air conditioning on!) and no socializing outside your vehicles. Let us know what you think. We hope to make a decision in the first week of June. See more

With all the uncertainty over when restrictions will be loosened the organizing committee is holding off on a decision regarding the 2020 season. We will follo...w the guidelines set by governing authorities. Among the possibilities is to delay the start of the season or even cancel outright. We are planning to meet May 18. By then we hope to be able to make some sort of decision. Please pray with us for those affected by the virus.
