Birthday Cake for Breakfast. Thanx Avery Stpierre for turning 9 yesterday and saving me a piece.
Very successful jitney last nite! Lots of new comers that look like they are gonna stay around.
Thanx to Tom, Matt, Scott, Ralph and Jerry! The more people that carry the load makes the load easier to carry.
Gonna participate at tonight's jitney. Have only rolled a few ends so far this year. Look out Cas and Lucier.
R Rental Sponsored Tournament today, FULL Greens ! 1st Place Scott Fisher and Bill W. , 2nd Jim Smith and Everett Zwiers, 3rd Jim Foley and Bob McQueen Great day with the weather cooperating. Thank You to all the teams for coming and to the ladies for the great lunch with 4 different homemade soups to choose from and sandwiches we could fix our way! I would like to start by saying that I was the president of Dresden Lawn Bowl Club a few years ago shadowing the past President, Tom Roth. I was a figure head only as it was Tom that still did most of the work. He taught me everything I needed to know. Tom, as President this year, flying on my own, I am just beginning to appreciate the work and dedication you and Laurie have done and are still doing to maintain this club. Laurie Roth, you made this club run so smooth you ...would never know if there were any problems as they were taken care of before anyone knew about them. Your job as secretary/treasurer for so many years went unappreciated until now. There is a lot more to running a club than cutting grass and you both have made it look so easy. Ralph Archer as our new treasurer...it has definitely been a difficult start to a new year and you have handled it amazingly. We would have had a much more difficult time doing this without you. Actually it would have been impossible to have done this without you. Your work has been more than appreciated, not just as treasurer but maintenance as well. To all members, the club still needs your support. We don't have much to offer back for at least the first half of the season, but we do encourage you to join as we still have financial responsibilities. To ensure a strong and viable club next year we still need your financial support this year. Thank you all and I hope we can make use of the greens later in the season. Steve St Pierre

I pulled back some snow and ice Saturday at the rink and We've struck oil or something. Our grass is covered with black slim.
A new indoor sports facility has been built in Stratford in the old Blackstone factory on Romeo Street. So far he has installed a large carpeted area used most...ly for soccer and baseball practices but there is one area that is quite good for lawn bowling. (we played about 20 ends last Wed.) It is a little heavy but still fun. He charges us $5 and we can bowl as long as we want. He has an indoor plastic skating rink for hockey complete with boards and plexiglass, three indoor golf nets, a putting green, weight room. Dave Koert has bowled there a few times and would welcome anyone interested in trying it to contact him. (his email is [email protected]) If we get enough interest in indoor lawn bowling in the winter, he may invest in a 80 or 90ft faster carpet that we could use on the plastic ice surface. See more
To All of our Lawn Bowling Friends!
District 1 was well represented at the US open Lawn Bowling Tournament in Arizona this week. 2nd place is not too shabby now is it? Read on.... * Ted Merritt ... Well we came up short in our flight 5 final against a very accomplished team. Absolutely no margin for error as 2 of the team that beat us were on the U.S. national team. I want to thank our wives who were rooting us on all along and gave us their full support. I'm also very thankful and I thoroughly enjoyed bowling with Don Caswell, Dave Austen and John Fantin. 2018 was a Great year for bowling in Dresden. Tournaments ran about 75% full for the year. Appetite ran 100% satisfied for the year. The weather was cooperative all year and the greens were great. Hope all who attended enjoyed themselves and will spread the word. Thanx for supporting our little club and hope to see you in the spring!
Yesterday was awesome. I didn't mind the cooler temps and I didn't sunburn. Food and hospitality was outstanding. Thanks for retailing the Grip stuff, the new kind is aweful. Dessert was amazing.
