As we enter the holiday season we want to wish everyone happy and safe physically distant celebrations with family and friends!

Due to the increase in the number of COVID cases in Saskatoon, Dress for Success Saskatoon and Conexus Credit Union will not be accepting any donations until January, 2021. Thank you for understanding! Until then, please hold on to your items for us and stay safe!

On this #GivingTuesday we want to thank you all for the continued support during this past year! Women have been uniquely impacted by the pandemic and we are very grateful for the continued support we have received so we are able to do what we can to counter these hard hits in women's lives. This Giving Tuesday, help our mission to provide women with tools and support to reach financial security in whatever way you are able to.... We are not taking clothing donations at the moment but would love for you to keep these items safe for us for when we will be able to again. We are always looking for more volunteers to help us in a variety of areas. We are also always looking for modern wear for our clients! When sorting through your closet, consider the kinds of items you would put on for a job interview. These are the items we love!

We are excited to offer our clients and volunteers a unique opportunity to attend a workshop with the talent acquisition experts at TJX (Winners, HomeSense, and Marshalls). Come join us on November 17th at 12:00pm Saskatoon time to learn about how to build confidence during your job search and be your best self during interviews. This session will take you through topics such as personal branding, communication, and listening cues, as well as what you can do during the interv...iew to increase your chances of getting the job. You won't want to miss out on this one-of-a kind workshop with inside information from experts in the field. As an added bonus, you will get to learn alongside women from Dress for Success affiliates right across the country. We are so excited to be able to support YWCA Saskatoon's Career Moves Program during these times! This amazing program is for people aged 55-64 who are entering the workforce. This program allows these women to create an action plan for their future employment, connect with potential employers and many other great skills that are necessary for entering the workforce or exploring a new path in their career. With our donation, the YWCA was able to purchase 8 laptops to help these women find employment within the hidden job market!

Giving Tuesday is coming up on December 1st! #GivingTuesday is a global movement to encourage donating and volunteering on the Tuesday that follows Black Friday. Last year, $21.9 million dollars were donated across Canada on top of thousands of volunteer hours and other items in need to local organizations! Dress for Success Ottawa National Capital Region is putting together virtual workshops from now until December for their clients and have opened these up for DFS clients all around Canada! Clients will be given spots first but non-clients are able to go on a waiting list in the event that there are remaining spots available!
