BIG NEWS. As many of you know, I had a terrible time with the FRS' stock brakes this year - I went through four sets of high temp brake pads and rotors, as I was constantly overheating calipers and boiling brake fluid. In 2021, @stoptech has been kind enough to supply me, along with my @ryspecracing teammate @giulianotraetto with their C43 BBK.... A larger 309mm X 32mm rotor and four piston calipers should keep things nice and cool. As a bonus, we're shaving off 7lbs per corner, and I'm expecting pedal feel to be excellent. The 2021 @ontariotimeattack season can't come soon enough!

228hp/184ftlbs from a 2.4l at 13.5:1 compression 50% more torsional rigidity. 2835lbs... RIP FRS resale value.

Spent my day saving the world's dustiest G35. I'm hoping it'll be my winter car so that I can spare the FRS from the salt and brine of a Canadian winter.

Against all odds, the 2020 time attack season with @ontariotimeattack managed to be the greatest automotive experience I've ever had. I met great people, made great memories, and learned so many lessons. The biggest: time attack is really fucking hard. This isn't golf; it's not something you do casually with your buds on the weekend. There's the wrenching, the parts failures, the test days. The obsessive data analysis. The gut wrenching moment when you know that in the pit o...f your stomach, you let yourself and the car down, and the insane high that comes with setting a wicked fast lap. I'm trying to get back to writing. There's so many stories to share. In the meantime, I have a lot of thanking to do. Thanks to @richardyin635 @ryspecracing for everything - for setting up the cars, for being there to do my clutch four days before Mosport GP, for dealing with me and @danielcocar.zc6's blown-shock fiasco. For providing moral support and guidance in competition even if you couldn't be there yourself. Thanks to @jules_mr2 at @jrp_online for putting up with our last minute parts requests when parts failed. Thanks to @thetireterminal for supplying us with the brilliant @yokohamacanada A052. @yokohamacanada is playing a cruel joke on us with these A052s. Astonishing grip. More than any "street tire" should have. I loved my Hankook RS4s but these absolutely blow them out of the water. The bad news - I'm going to have to up my tire budget

A lot of people asked me why I didn't go with a 245 or 255 A052 - this is why. Where my 245 RS4s cleared easily, these 235 A052s have barely a credit card's worth of clearance against the spring. I'm obsessed with these shots by the talented @dimitry_om from last Saturday's @ontariotimeattack at @tmpcayuga. Safe to say I was getting a little slidey slidey.

I'm realizing there's two ways to do this time attack thing moderately successfully. 1) carry a ton of spare parts with you, or 2) get to the track the day before the event itself to shake the car down. At a high enough level I'm sure both are required. I've been relying on the second, which meant cooking my breaks at TMP today and needing to swap on new rotors and pads in my parking garage. I'm giving @endlessjapan pads with @stoptech slotted rotors a shot in the hope of ...curing my breaking issues. If this fails, it's bbk time. Thanks as always to @jules_mr2 at @jrp_online for always being there for my last-minute parts requests, and thanks to @alphamotorsports86 for supplying these pads for me! I'm not a very good loser, but watching Anthony Ho lay down that lap in a bone stock car was an incredible, albeit humbling experience. Awesome work sir, well done. I'm still overslowing in T1 and T2, the data tells me that's where I binned the lap, but I'm a hell of a lot more comfortable around GP than I was two weeks ago. More importantly, I learned a ton - about balancing the car with throttle, about smoothness and consistency, and about commitment. Drove my heart out to ...a 1:43.934. Video with all the datas below. OH! And I got to do the Perrier thing! Awesome, awesome weekend. Scrambling to throw a new clutch and TOB in the car last week was well worth it. Thanks Ontario Time Attack for the amazing event!!

The 86s throw out bearing woes finally hit me; four days before GP naturally. When they fail they fail FAST. Less than 300kms! Luckily, I have some amazing people to help me through this. I've been playing around with RaceCapture MK2 data acquisition system. The amount of data you can get from the 86s OBDII port is nuts; brake pressure, steering angle, individual wheel speeds. Super pumped to try it out at a Pinnacle Advanced Driving Academy lapping day tomorrow. Thanks @dogsbollocksracing !

Yesterday's testing at @canorthernspeed was a little rough. Blew up my new-to-me KW V3s, warped my rotors to shit because I forgot to lube the slider pins, and cracked my bumper. Time for a reset. Throw stock struts on, get new rotors on, realign the car and give OTA DDT a shot. See y'all then.
