Well, gym is shut down but that doesn’t stop you from keeping in top form!! Virtual workouts start today...like they were last summer. @payton_morningstar is first, then some young girls before virtual workouts for the boxing club. Not ideal, but fun nonetheless .
New Year, a New Exercise.....That You Can Do At Home!!
Here’s the Exercise of the Week for the first week of the new year!! This is one that will really help those who wish to do push-ups, but can’t seems to make any progress. We should know now that the eccentric motion of any exercise is generally easier. In the push up it is the motion when you’re going down that is eccentric and easier. So you may be able to lower yourself....then put your knees down for some assistance with the concentric action. Try to maintain form, keep the back straight and core tight. Everyone training hard yesterday with the first training session of the New Year!! It was a busy day at the gym....or should I say virtually, LOL. Mr. Morningstar was training hard working his way back to the motocross season, the young girls trained very well working on basic movements, the young boys worked on getting stronger and faster, the ladies came out for a great boxing workout, and then a few boxers were out of the later class. I managed to see some sweat through the computer screen
Another girl I used to coach at @athleticsniagara. @mollykoop_ is now in university playing field hockey and looking to build strength and speed. She was in the sprint group so she had a good start, but never really had the training on change of direction and deceleration. This is motocross racer @payton_morningstar working on a bit of stability, stiffness and tightness. You might not be able to tell in the video, but I know he felt the difference of when kept everything stiff and tight, compared to when he didn’t. He has really noticed the difference on the bike!! During a race, He is able to keep his muscles engaged and ready, not loose and relaxed. #motocross #laptime #stabilitytraining #stiffness
