What are you doing for fun this holiday season? I love the holiday season with all the baking (dairy-free of course, sometimes vegan and gluten-free). My other favourite time is to help with crafts. This school year is different, so we're making crafts at home. I am still gathering all the material, but pretty excited to make these with the boys. It's important to always bring fun and play into your life. Especially, this year to help balance work-school-life.... Need some ideas? Having a drive after dinner and check out the beautiful Christmas lights displays (check @activeparentsca for their recommendations of great spots) Take a stroll through the village and stop in your favourite or new stores to #shoplocal. You will want to check out @rustic_daisys @agreenerplace.ca @griffinvintagefurniture to name but a few Grab a coffee, tea and sweets from the local cafés @copper_kettle_ @jitterbugcafe_ Give yourself a night off and order in from @royal.coachman.waterdown @shysplace @bliss_kitchen Curl up and watch some Christmas classics from Frosty to Rudolph, toss in some Hallmark favourites and you cannot forget the Grinch (the new one on Netflix is pretty great). What is something fun you're doing this weekend? Drop it in the comments

Remember Do you remember to put yourself first? I always think back to when we could travel and fly and the announcements say out your oxygen mask on before helping others.... This is so important. After last month's self-care challenge, this month is all focused on remembering. How will you put yourself first today? Do you have unused extended health insurance? This is the perfect time to come in for a discovery appointment. Let's create a plan to get you through the next few months, increase your resilience and be ready to take on what the world throws at you. Stressed? Acupuncture can help. Curious how I can help? Call the clinic for a free 15 minute meet & greet. It's time to remember, you are important & your health matters I am here cheering you on

Self care for me is cooking and baking. It's very relaxing and calming. . . What do you bake on a foggy rainy day? ... Make 2 different new vegan muffin recipes and add different fixings: 1) cinnamon muffins with raisins (4 were raisin free for mommy and have dairy-free chocolate chunks) 2) mini dairy-free chocolate chunk muffins & not pictured regular size with added raisins. . . What have you been cooking lately? See more

Have you reflected on 2020? It was It is unique... to put it mildly. As we near closer to Christmas and the new year, what can you take from the past year? ... What were your ups? What were your downs? How will this year shape the coming years? There are no right or wrong answers, only those relevant to your situation. For me: I revisited my priorities and values. I started baking all the time with the boys (I have some recipes memorized now). I began a rebranding process. I started to write (2 books in progress more to come). I miss checking out new coffee shops with friends. I miss meeting friends at chapters and browsing. I miss family gatherings I miss how easy grocery shopping was & popping in quickly for a few things. While I miss a lot from pre-never ending March break. It wasn't always sunshine, rainbows and unicorn farts burn out is very real. But looking back and reflecting, I gained a lot. Hindsight is 2020 I am curious how we will all feel in the coming years and at the end of the decade. What do you think will be our big takeaways? What lessons do you hope we will have learned for the future?

Let's have some Halloween fun

Happy All Hallows Eve I needed to walk away from social media as a method of self-care. A lot changed in two weeks and I needed to pause. I don't want to be posting random stuff so I took a pause. It was fabulous. I connected with friends, caught up with some work things I'm planning and spent time with the kids. As this month is coming to an end, it has me reflecting on how I put myself first. Tomorrow is a blue moon on Halloween . Full moons are about releasing the past ...and connecting with your shadow side. I spent a lot of time worrying what others think, being filled with mom guilt and other emotions this month was a roller coaster that's for sure. When you are reflecting on October, what lessons have you learned? What themes keep coming up, that you haven't cleared? Tonight, if the clouds blow over, you should be able to bask in the magic of the almost full moon. Enjoy it's light and release what isn't serving you anymore. What will you let go of this blue moon?

I am starting to think 2020 is one of those choose your own adventure books that just keeps throwing you plot twist after plot twist. How are you managing with the changes going on daily?

Shame Guilt ALL the emotions! Today I had a magical tapping session with the loveliest Anita! It was something we’ve been trying to set up for a while but it didn’t end up working out. Today was the day. She was so amazing holding the space and letting me release emotions. Growing up, did you learn how to express yourself through the full gamut of emotions? ... Were you told to keep silent? Told that some emotions were not appropriate to express? Or better yet did not have a healthy role model to express them? Having a tapping session was amazing for my self-care. I needed to process things and have a gentle reset but wasn’t sure what or how to do it. Anita guided me through her session and I was able to let the fizz out of my emotional bottle and now feel so calm. My body is relaxed and I’m ready to start this new phase and chapter of my business. I am grateful for all the healing and energetic healers I get to work with. If you need a reset, have a frustration or trauma, please reach out to Anita. You won’t be disappointed. She doesn’t make you relive the trauma, she talks you through things and lets your body guide the healing as it needs.
