I’m not really big into New Years resolutions. I usually do a self reflection check-in at Christmas time and then set some things I want to revisit next year. My challenge for you is to list the things you want to focus on in 2021 and evaluate realistic timelines. I don’t want you to put the pressure on yourself that just because 2021 is here you must make a drastic change within yourself. What I want you to do is acknowledge goals that you want to see yourself move to th...e next level in. My challenge for the next week is to have these books read by January 2nd, then reflect on how it made me feel and how I will conquer my next goal of reading 12 new books for 2021. It’s all about mini milestones and acknowledging your personal wins. Remember these are #goals only YOU can create for yourself. Cheers to 2021 See more

Intermittent Fasting ever wondered how it works? Intermittent fasting tells us all about when you should eat! Fast is the time period you don’t eat which helps your body burns fat! There are loads of intermittent fasting methods one of my favorites is the 16/8 method.... Starting your first meal at 12 pm and your last meal at 8 pm. 16:8 intermittent fasting is a form of time-restricted fasting. It involves consuming foods during an 8-hour window and avoiding food, or fasting, for the remaining 16 hours each day. **Some people believe that this method works by supporting the body’s circadian rhythm, which is its internal clock. Here are some intermittent fasting benefits research has revealed so far: Physical performance. Young men who fasted for 16 hours showed fat loss while maintaining muscle mass. Mice who were fed on alternate days showed better endurance in running. Heart health it improves blood pressure and resting heart rates as well as other heart-related measurements. Memory studies have discovered that intermittent fasting boosts working memory. Diabetes and obesity See more

If you’re in training mode or working towards health + fitness goals, you might want to think about adding a supplement that supports the body during transformation. helps the body metabolize carbohydrates, fats and proteins, in connective tissue formation and wound healing. It is fortied with N-acetyl tyrosine, vitamin C and a comprehensive spectrum of B vitamins. Hormone Imbalance Treatment // The most important part of treating a hormone imbalance is finding a Doctor who has a special focus in hormone therapy. But even though your levels appear normal, you may still have an imbalance that requires deeper investigation. A diagnosis may require more than just a simple blood test. A hormone focused physician can do further research ab...out you and your body to determine any underlying causes for a hormone imbalance. We will gather all the data and explore all options for helping you overcome the imbalance and not just put you on medication. I’m passionate about taking a holistic approach with my patients and finding solutions to this. It’s one of the many reasons I’ve included Hormone Imbalance Treatment into my practice. If youre a regular gym goer or started hitting the weights, then likely youre familiar with muscle fatigue and soreness. During the muscle growth phase, our bodies tend to get sore due to lactic acid build up. The best way to relieve the soreness and repair muscles quickly, is by taking L-glutamine daily... and of course allowing for rest days. If you tend to have anxiety, sugar or alcohol cravings, constipation or diarrhea, a poor immune system, low muscle mass, ...poor wound healing or slow recovery after workouts, you may want to supplement with L-glutamine. L-Glutamine conveniently comes in two forms powder or capsule. Anyone who has taken this knows the gritty taste is hard to get down. Try capsules for easy or mix powder into smoothies for easier consumption. Happy training See more

Hormones out of whack? If youre coping with any of these symptoms: fatigue, weight gain, increased sensitivity to heat or cold, brain fog, low mood, then you may need to get your hormones checked. These are just a few of the potential symptoms. An effective way to check is by working with a Naturopathic physician to initiate a dry urine test. ... The dry urine test is undoubtedly the most effective hormone testing available. Unlike blood and saliva testing, the benefit to capturing dry urine samples over a 24-hour period allows for optimal hormone levels. Since we measure the levels throughout the day, this allows for more reliable results. 24-hour urine hormone testing has long been established as a reliable method for evaluating the production of steroid hormones and their metabolites. Why choose a Naturopathic Physician? This question is so important to know the answer to. As a Naturopathic Doctor I am passionate about finding non-invasive therapies by using a holistic approach to combat challenges your body is facing. I am educated to approach health and wellness by using the bodys natural abilities. Naturopathic doctors (NDs) are trained to treat the whole person. As an ND, I am also able to prescribe and submit requests for blood work. I like to evaluate diet, sleep schedules, mental health and various other key components that may be affecting sleep. ... One option I start with is a natural formula called Somno-Pro. This supplement addresses every facet of insomnia: difficulty initiating sleep, difficulty maintaining sleep, waking too early in the morning and waking groggy. Somno-Pro reduces anxiety and nervous system excitation, which can inhibit sleep. It is safe without the side effects of prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medications like sleeping medications. Do you know what your injector is using? Here are four different types of botulinum toxin injections: Botox... Dysport Xeomin Nuceiva Why is it important for you to know this? Depending on which brand your injector uses, each product is similar in the way that it treats fine lines and wrinkles ultimately offering the benefit of smoother, more youthful looking skin. What may be unique to each product, is the quality and length of time it sustains. It may also effect the volume of product used as well. There are different options depending on the needs of each patient, so its important you learn what product is right for you. In my practice, I like to discover what my patients goals are before I determine which injectables are best suited for their needs. Whether my patients are experiencing static (permanent or deep) lines or dynamic (movement) lines, its important we determine the most appropriate volume and brand for each person. I strive to take my patients through a customized process that offers a more natural look. Before making any big decisions, please reach out for a private consultation to discover which injectable is right for you. How are you celebrating Earth Day? We have an opportunity to play a role individually by reducing some of the ways we may be taking advantage of Mother Nature. Earth day is near and dear to me, as our household takes great initiative in prioritizing the reduction of waste and doing our due diligence to use eco-friendly products.... I recently did a post on dryer balls and essential oils in replacement of dryer sheets. A few other things we like to implement are: 1. Riding our bikes as often as possible to run errands or replace vehicle use 2. Plant our own herbs and vegetables 3. Only use water bottles and for to-go beverages 4. Use reusable bags for grocery shopping 5. Consume plant-based products I hope you find ways to incorporate these helpful tips into your homes. See more

Happy Thursday! Just thought Id say hello and see how everyone is holding up during this difficult time... Ive been seeing a lot of cool polls and ideas sharing past photos and childhood memories, so what better way to shed some light and have a laugh, then taking a trip down memory lane. ... Here are 3 things you might not know about me. 1. I sang in a choir growing up and Kiwanas music festival from the age of 4 until I was 12 2. I have a passion for music and love all genres of music, in fact I have quite a nice vinyl collection 3. I love to read biographies. I recently just finished Phil Knight (founder of Nike) memoir Shoe Dog What about you? I would love to hear something quirky or unique that youre passionate about. See more

LAUNDRY D A Y In fact, we actually love folding the laundry because we have swapped out traditional dryer sheets, which contain various toxins and chemicals for amazing scented and natural dryer balls with a touch of our favourite essential oil scents. So, how do we make these magnificent alternatives? Step 1: Wool dryer balls... Step 2: Lavender, Eucalyptus, and Tea Tree Oil (our favourites, but feel free to use any of your favourite oils) Step 3: Add 2-3 drops on to the ball and allow an hour for drying time Step 4: Once dry, add in with your dryer laundry Lastly, we like to re-scent after 4-5 loads. If youd like to avoid stains on the ball, use an eye dropper to insert oils directly into the dryer ball. Laundry day game changer! See more

Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) is a condition in which an excessive amount of bacteria end up residing within the small intestines. The majority of bacteria in our gastrointestinal system feed on fibers and certain sugars such as lactose (milk sugar) and fructose (fruit sugar). When the bacteria feed, they immediately begin to produce gases such as hydrogen and methane. If SIBO is present, there ends up being an excessive amount of hydrogen and/or... methane being produced within the small intestines, which leads to the following symptoms as the small intestines expand: - Abdominal bloating/distension - Abdominal pain/cramping - Diarrhea/Constipation/Alternating - Excessive belching, flatulence - Heartburn - Nausea Lets work together to resolve these symptoms and treat what may be SIBO. I am accepting consultations using Telemedicine . See more
