DINNER. . In case you needed a little inspo - this massaged kale salad was a hit, and used up a bunch of slightly wilty kale that I was nervous was gonna die on us. . Recipe is @hemsleyhemsley from our cookbook of theirs:... Let your steak come up to room temp. Make salad dressing: 2 tsp dried oregano, 1 tsp chili flakes, 6 tbsp lemon juice or ACV, 2/3c olive oil (I added 1 tsp Dijon and 1 tsp maple syrup) + s+p. Whisk or shake in a jar. . Wash and trim kale, massage with some of the dressing in a bowl, set aside. . Preheat a cast iron skillet to med/hi. Season steak with s+p. Cook to your desired doneness. . Let the steak rest for 5 mins. Meanwhile, sauté 1 tbsp capers in the hot pan. Mix a couple of handfuls of arugula, watercress or romaine into the salad. Add more dressing if you need. . Plate the salad, capers, steak and slice some avocado on the side . Sorry guys... but I cant stop spamming you with pics of my first ever gluten free sourdough! . Shes tangy and soft, with a crispy crust, and I got a pretty good overnight rise out of her (despite there not being any gluten in sight!). While it was definitely a labour of love, now that Ive got a GF starter going this will be easy to make on a regular basis. .... We dont eat a ton of bread on the regular, and even though its g free I would still consider this a treat (the 20% of your 80/20 diet). But still... nothings better than a warm slice of sourdough with a bit of grass fed butter and a pinch of salt... . Ill post the recipe soon for those asking but this was made with a combo of sorghum flour, brown rice flour, almond meal and psyllium husk. . Morning, sunshine! Its day 3 for us distancing at home, and were still doing our best to eat well for our immune systems. This is an açaí bowl made with stuff that I found in our freezer and pantry, plus a ripe banana and cucumber. . Want the recipe? Check it out: .... Makes 2 smoothie bowls. Into the blender: -1 banana -1 cucumber -2 piece of ginger -1 packet of Trader Joes açaí puree(if you happen to find one at the bottom of your freezer) -1 cup frozen mixed berries -1 handful of cashews -2 scoops protein powder (I love and used @genuinehealth fermented vegan) -about 1.5c of water (eyeball it) . Blitz until creamy (I use the smoothie setting on the Vitamix). Tip into 2 bowls, and spend a few minutes making it look pretty. I used what we had! Coconut yogurt, shredded coconut, granola, almonds, pumpkin seeds, and a navel orange. Nausea in pregnancy is incredibly common - its estimated that 70-80% of women will experience it! SO that means, even if youre not pregnant now you might want to save this for later. Just in case. . Theres no one-size-fits-all approach to nausea in pregnancy, but trying different things that work for other women is the only way youll be able to figure out what works for you. . In this video, Im sharing 2 recipes for herbal formulas that my patients find are helpful... to curb the nausea. Along with some minor dietary adjustments, eating small meals more frequently (grazing), acupuncture, B vitamins (like B6) and the IV Quease bag that we have at @acubalancewellnesscentre, we can often find the right combination of things that will help with your nausea. . I received lots of questions this week about LDA (Low Dose Allergy) therapy, from those who were following along in my stories about my own treatment. Questions like - sorry, but why are you eating steamed cabbage and mashed sweet potato for three days!? LDA is a series of intradermal (under the skin) injections, that a...re administered about once every 2 months in the beginning. They, over time, induce immune system tolerance to food and inhalant allergens . In my video I explain what getting an LDA treatment is like, why the diet needs to be controlled around it, and the eventual goal of treatment (which is the eradication of food allergies and food sensitivities that cause a myriad of health complaints from subtle inflammation to autoimmune conditions). . I want to tell you that youre not alone. Miscarriage is actually very common - 1 in 4 women will suffer a miscarriage at some point in her life. Thats 25% of us. Though we dont always talk about it, youre in good company. Miscarriage does not mean theres something wrong with ...you. These beauties were too perfect to pass on at the grocery store today. Theyre currently steaming over water with lemon, and well devour them with some garlic butter in about 20 mins . Artichokes are packed with antioxidants (they have a high ORAC score due to their quercetin, rutin, gallic acid and cynarin content), are high in fiber (about 10g per artichoke), and the leaves are hepato-protective (liver loving). .
