A little late for Earth day, but came across this article and thought it exemplified a particularly special Earth Day this year with the significant decreases in pollution. "Delhi, India, has had a 60 percent reduction in pollution compared to this time last year. Seoul, South Korea, had a 54 percent reduction and Wuhan, China, had a 44 percent reduction when the city was on lockdown." Now we all know that these types of shifts in our lifestyles is impossible to maintain, n...or do we want it stay this way! I'm hoping this time teaches us how to be mindful in our transportation, resourceful in minimizing our waste, and returns quality to our things while decreasing a disposable style of consumerism. Happy Belated Earth Day. https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov//airborne-nitrogen-dioxi

As researchers continue to try to understand how the virus can be fatal even in our younger population, a few preliminary studies "focused on patients under the age of 60, [finding] that those with obesity were twice as likely to be hospitalized and were at even higher risk of requiring critical care." If you or a loved one struggles with obesity (BMI over 30), know it is more than just calories in and calories out in order to fight obesity. Obesity is complex and recognized ...as a medical disorder. Reach out to a naturopathic doctor or functional medical doctor for help in addressing underlying biochemical imbalances in order to sustain a long-term healthy weight. Obesity is a medical disorder that can be overcome and in so doing you are not only decreasing the risks of aquiring other health issues through life, but also viral infections such as COVID-19. #covid19 #immunesystem #obesity #healthyweight #bestrong #weareallinthistogether #leanin https://www.nytimes.com//coronavirus-obesity-higher-risk.h

"All of a sudden, it seems like everyone’s a baker. Social media feeds are full of people buying sourdough starters, gleefully watching their bread rise, sharing updates as it forms and bakes. They’re fun to watch but can also sometimes fill you with dread: Should I be doing this too? What’s wrong with me?.... ...It’s important to be patient and kind to yourself as you adapt to a new and very difficult reality. You’re figuring out how to cope under circumstances you didn’t expect and haven’t experienced before. It’s normal for that to be difficult." https://www.huffingtonpost.ca//coronavirus-productivity-me

Shooting straight from the hip, Dr. Tyna Moore has a strong message to deliver as she highlights viral evolution and the need for human health-mentality to evolve as well with this experience. She describes what we are going through as a wake up call not only to focus on the immune system, but to strengthen our body's function overall to "make us harder to kill!" This is a great listen while you are in line for the grocery store!
