Is a vegan diet the healthiest diet going? If you're going to put in the effort of not eating animal protein, it must be just amazing for your body, right? My patients are often suprised when I tell them "probably not". Watch Dr. Talia talk about the reasons why, and address some of the important considerations in the omnivore vs. vegan diet dilemma.

The Lunch Smoothie. I think it's worthy of the capitalization because with this beauty, you can really capitalize on optimal nutrition (ahaha... Anyone? No? Just me?) Anyways - here's my story: I didn't want a smoothie for breakfast (I know, I know. It happens). I wanted bacon instead. So that's what I did. I had bacon. On a Wednesday. That's the kind of life I'm about. But, since I'm a health conscious carnivore, I knew I needed to get my antioxidants and fiber on in some ot...her way. Enter: the lunch smoothie. Now, I'm cruising my way to an energized afternoon, with no sandwich bloat, full of bacon AND delicious vitamins and minerals. So, the moral of the story is this: flex your smoothie - don't get bored at breakfast, and don't miss out on the delicious convenience and flexibility of the protein smoothie. #smoothmove #bacon #lunchoptions #protein #itsbeefprotein #thatsright #madefromcow #smoothmoooooveiguess #thatsastoryforanothertimethough #naturopathicmedicine

I love me a good listicle. Who doesn't, #amirite? My most recent fave is this collection of high protein breakfasts (that aren't ALL reliant on eggs or protein powder). If your breakfast is getting a little boring, this'll help! My faves from the list are (in no order): Sweet potato hash with sausage and eggs, Ground Turkey Brussels Sprouts Skillet, and High Protein Vanilla Chia Pudding. Most intriguing, and winner of ths "Oh dang I HAVE to try that" award goes to: Apple an...d Cinnamon N'Oatmeal, which uses (drum roll please...) cauliflower in place of grains. NEAT. Anyways - check it out here: https://greatist.com//high-protein-breakfasts-healthy-reci

I mean, the sugar industry probably didn't actually put Willy Wonka on any scientific advisory panels, but, the message otherwise rings true: sugar = overweight.
