Free books - read on! Amidst this pandemic, another crisis is arising for many people. The mental health crisis. While this has always been a somewhat silent battle for many, the overall rates of anxiety and depression have skyrocketed this year. Understandably. There is a lot going on that none of us have ever needed to handle before. In the naturopathic community, many of us have been asking ourselves what we can do to help. ... The author of this book, beyond the label, is a Naturopathic Doctor with many years of experience working with patients with anxiety and depression. She decided that her way to help was to donate many copies of this book to clinics all over Canada for us to get them to our patients and communities. If you, or someone you love, is dealing with anxiety or depression and want to know some ways to support yourself, I have a copy of the book for you. The books are free, although if you have the means and want to donate $5 to help cover the shipping costs, that is also welcomed. If any donations are made and exceed the costs it took to get the books here, I will donate the excess to local creston charities. If you would like a copy of the book please email me [email protected] and use the subject line Beyond the Label book. Might make a great Christmas present for yourself or someone else. Wishing you all a lovely holiday season and a Merry Christmas. *all books are brand new, straight from printing to my office. Retails for $23 normally

A few updates: Lovely community, as this year winds down, but cold and flu season (in addition to a pandemic) gets ramped up, there are a few reminders and updates to read. First, I am asking that from this point forward, all adults wear a mask while in the office. If you don’t want to wear a mask for whatever reason, please remember that I do offer virtual video and phone consults!... Second, if you have any symptoms of illness at all, even if you don’t think it’s covid, please please contact me to reschedule your appointment if it is booked for in-person. Finally, as the majority of my appointment spaces are nearly booked for the remainder of 2020, please respect the cancellation policy and give me 48 hours notice whenever possible. No show fees DO apply if you just don’t show up. I have a waiting list and out of respect for others, please give notice so that your spot can be filled. I am not yet booking new patients again, but am taking a waiting list for Early 2020. I will also be announcing a change to my hours starting in January so look for that coming soon. In the meantime, I’ll continue to soak up every precious moment I can with this little munchkin Wishing everyone a healthy and happy day!!

To my wonderful community: At this time I am no longer accepting new patients. I am starting a waiting list again and will re-evaluate this decision in November. However I may still be unable to take new people at that point, I am not sure yet. If we have been in discussion about booking a visit over the last couple months, please get in touch ASAP, as if I don’t hear from you within the next 1-2 weeks, I will have to place you back onto the waiting list. For returning patie...nts - most follow up visits are being conducted by telemedicine still (video or telephone) and in-office visits are reserved for treatment visits only (eg Bowen therapy). Please know that I am booking nearly 4-6 weeks in advance on a regular basis at this time. If you need a visit please get in touch as quickly as possible and note the urgency of your request as well. Email is the easiest way to reach me. My phone only accepts voicemail at this time and it is often difficult for me to return calls (trying to fit them in during baby nap time!), so if you can email please do, and if you need a call back please ensure you leave a voicemail as I won’t know you called otherwise. Hope everyone is keeping safe, happy, and healthy

Thanks CDC for this post! While nothing we know of cures or prevents Covid-19, Vitamin C, vitamin D, and zinc, as the CDC mentions, among many other vitamins and minerals, are very important for healthy function of your immune system, as many of us have know for years. A healthy, plant rich diet is a great way to get these nutrients, although sunshine works much better for Vitamin D. On the flip side, processed sugar will suppress the function of your immune system. A healthy immune system goes a long way towards a balanced response to any infection. So, use summer to your advantage and get appropriate amounts of sunshine (don’t get burnt!) while eating your garden fresh fruits and veggies!

To my lovely and very patient patients I am currently working on my restart plan and sourcing the equipment and cleaners I will need to return to the office. I am looking at an early to mid-June date. When I return to the office at first it will only be for those appointments that cannot be done by virtual telemedicine options. So this means all those on the waiting list for Bowen therapy, Acupuncture, and injections will be contacted and booked first, then initial visits ...that have wanted to wait for in-person spots. All follow up visits will continue to be conducted by telemedicine for the foreseeable future. For in office visits, please ensure you have your own face mask as it will be required to wear at your appointment, and until supplies are more readily available I will not be able to provide you with one. I will be in touch with those on the waiting list as soon as I know the exact plan and dates moving forward.
