Hello to All! I’m sure you would all agree that the season of COVID-19 has been challenging, and we hope that everyone is taking precautions to stay healthy and safe. The newest directive handed down from the Ministry of Health and the College Of Optometrists has given the profession of Optometry the green light to move towards soft openings of a non-urgent matter. Over the next few weeks, our office will be preparing all recommended protocols by the college to resume active practice. If you have any questions regarding these new directives, please visit the college of optometry website or call our office directly for further information or guidance. Due to COVID-19, our office is taking all necessary steps as recommended both by our College and the Ministry of Health to provide services limited to Urgent Care including any sudden losses of vision, visual impairment, injury, infection, and acute pain. If you are unsure as to whether or not your case is urgent, please call the office and one of our associates will be available. If the reason for your call is to schedule a routine eye examination, we will gladly schedule yo...ur appointment in the near future as per college recommendations. Please note that our normal office hours are Monday to Friday between 930 am and 7 pm, and Saturday between 930 am and 5 pm. Due to COVID-19, these hours may vary. Please join us as we welcome a new Doctor of Optometry to our team! Dr. Jaskiran Kaur graduated from McMaster University with her Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences in 2014. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree with Honours Distinction at the New England College of Optometry in Boston. She received membership in the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Society, awarded to students who maintain a higher level of achievement throughout their studie...s. Through externships in Chicago and New Jersey, she has had the opportunity to work alongside several pediatric, cataract, and retinal specialists both in primary-care and tertiary-care settings. Dr. Kaur has also participated in voluntary eye care missions to underserved areas particularly in the Dominican Republic. In her spare time Dr. Kaur enjoys hiking, cooking, traveling, and playing with her pet Husky. She is an active member of both the Ontario and the Canadian Optometric Associations. Dr. Kaur is passionate about providing high-quality care with a patient-centered approach. She welcomes patients of all ages and looks forward to serving her local communities.
