Yes. Thank you Dr Cyndi Gilbert ND. It has also always bothered me how ‘science’ (western biomedical research) takes claim to anything be valid/real if ‘discovered’ /seen through its lense. There are and have been many ways of knowing - all scientific in their own way. I agree the language around this is especially meaningful with respect to plant medicine. Respect what people have already known instead of claiming it as new and discovered and there for taking ownership. Lots of unlearning to do for me as well and increasing consciousness around the language used.
Great time of year to get your sleep and circadian rhythm set up. Check out my colleague’s video on sleep. The most important part of your day
From Dr Kristen summarizing where we are and some info on the return :) I'm looking forward to returning to the office. "We are so ready to get back to the office!... Expect some emails, calls, messenger pigeons, the whole works! Our appointment times will be very limited from what we could accommodate before in order to meet guidelines. We will try our best to get you in ASAP, but please don’t be too disappointed if your wait time is longer than you’d like. In fact, if you feel you urgently need care, an email to [email protected] or a leaving a message at 902-258-2656 will help us triage you closer to the front of the line. We want to assure you that we are following all public health directives to the letter. We also understand if you aren’t ready to come back in. These uncertain times can be scary. Just know we will be putting the safety of our community first."

Great ideas and tips from Dr Kristen on ergonomics and working from home.
Did you know bare feet are really good for your health? Join in Barefoot with Dr Erin for community exploring Earthing, Barefooting, and the many scientific reasons why Nature is one of the biggest and untapped resources we have for HEALTH! In kids is it helps development of all the little muscles in their feet, ankles and pelvis etc, and finding good posture. Balancing and movement without shoes is good for their neurological development.... and they have better balance without shoes. Our feet are actually like our hands with many nerve endings... so seems Nature’s mysterious Design is at play here. https://www.washingtonpost.com//why-kids-should-go-barefo/ .
Nature has our back, and minds and spirits.
Cold is good for you too. Barefeet w cold wet grass stimulates your circulation. My little one makes an impromptu appearance as well, though he opted out of bare feet this morning! Don’t do this if you have lowered vitality or a chronic disease. Needs to be worked up to.
Check it out! Thanks for the post Dr Kristen. . Free course on the science of happiness from Yale. Knowledge is Power and we humans love to understand the reasons why things are good for us and how things work. It helps make context and meaning. I’m really interested in sharing and exploring how we can deepen our understanding of HEALTH. Not just absence of disease, HEALTH is a dynamic and resilient state of being. And It’s a journey...
Simple science on how this simple practice can improve health. https://twoworldsnaturopathic.com//barefootelectricityconn
Thank you Jenny Kierstead. Jenny was an influential yoga teacher in my life many years ago. She founded Yoga in Schools and Breathing Space Yoga studios. Her sister was among those killed 2 weeks ago. She is sharing with us her pain and how she is moving with it on her page. Grief is something we can move through and with, allowing it to be with you and moving with it can help it not become stuck and embedded in us. It's been 2 weeks since the mass shooting here in NS and this came to my newsfeed as a life affirming and helpful way to remember, honour and heal. These postures are great for us to learn for self care at home, releasing tension and providing comfort when we feel alone or fearful.
My reflections and some helpful tips on mindfulness, grounding, and dealing with anxiety. Link to self-compassion exercises in the blog post. https://twoworldsnaturopathic.com//fear-and-feeling-cold-m
Thank you Mother Earth! He truly has been loving the gratitude times we re working on.
Earth Day. In the midst of so much loss and tragedy, Nature offers us a place to land. Truly, Earth is Home. We are all heavy-hearted to say the least here in Nova Scotia. This is a bit of levity and love and a little piece of my little world in my little corner of Earth. Gratitude has come into our lives in a new way since we have been in lockdown to help lessen covid-19's impact...see note below from Thoreau... and yes my feet got cold, and it was about 5 minutes outside! I got off the hook because it started (sort of) raining after I sat down for some quiet time...
Science is about examining situations, trying to see what outcomes may occur and then testing your thoughts and conceptual frameworks. There's reasonable scientific grounds to be very concerned about EMF pollution. (Electromagnetic Frequency) I'd like to see a review of the research available proving safety for communities and the planet with new technologies. These scientists and doctors are doing their due diligence studying the facts and hoping to inform policy. https://www.youtube.com/watch
