What does an appointment with me look like? The first time you visit me at the clinic we’ll spend a whole hour together! In your hour-long initial visit we’ll go through a comprehensive medical history, and perform any necessary physical exam. We’ll solidify your short and long-term health goals, and figure out a way to monitor our progress. If there is any testing that needs to be done we’ll discuss our options. I’ll write up a treatment plan and we’ll re...view it together so you can feel clear and empowered about your plan moving forward. Follow up appointments are different for each patient but can range from 15-45minutes and include adjusting and adapting our original treatment plan while reviewing and monitoring your symptoms, lab results, and physical exams. Do you have any other questions about your first appointment with me? Comment below, send me a DM or email. Ready to book - click the link in my bio to book online. See more

I’m just going to leave this here as a little reminder for you today. Try not to get discouraged if things aren’t going exactly as planned. You can always ask for support to help adjust and adapt the plan as needed.

Penny and I want to wish everyone a HAPPY FRIDAY. Just a little note to remind you to do something for YOU this weekend. Whether it's taking a bath, listen to your favourite song, taking a break from social media, or baking yourself a treat; self care is so important yet often forgotten. Make sure to set aside time for yourself this weekend.

St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum). I LOVE this herb for mild to moderate depression, mostly because it has a ton of great research behind it. A Cochrane review revealed that St. John's wort extracts tested in the trials were superior to placebo, similarly effective as standard antidepressants, and had fewer side effects than standard antidepressants! That being said, the form and dosage of the active ingredient, hypericin, varies a lot acros...s different products on the market so it is important to consult with a qualified health care practitioner about the best choice for you. St. John’s wort should NOT be taken by people on ANY other medication because it can greatly interfere with the efficiency of other medications. ** This post is not medical advice and is intended for educational purposes only. I love coffee just as much as the next person, and it always hurts me a little bit to tell people they need to cut out their favourite morning beverage - so I don’t do it a lot. Buuttttt there are a few situations that I will discuss caffeine habits, and a big one is ANXIETY. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if you’re feeling more anxious or overwhelmed lately, your coffee and caffeine habits might need some adjusting. One of... my favourite tips to scale back the caffeine is to switch your morning brew for half-caf. Still the same delicious taste and morning ritual, but with half as many jitters.
