What do you do when you see lights flashing and first responders on your road? A cautionary tale: Yellowhead County Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle... collision early on Sunday morning on Highway 16. While fire vehicles and crews were on scene attending to an initial motor vehicle collision, their own vehicle was struck by a passing driver. These photos illustrate the results of the second collision involving a pulled-over, light-flashing fire truck. We're glad to report that no one received any injuries as a result of this early morning crash, but it's one more thing our crews shouldn't need to worry about as they set about their duties in an emergency. Please remember, slowing down to 60 km/h when passing emergency vehicles isn't just the law--it's neighbours, friends, and members of your and our community who are out there working to keep Yellowhead County safe. Do your part this winter. Drive to arrive.
