Unfortunately on Sunday September 27th, 2020, due to COVID we will not be able to attend the National Police Memorial in Ottawa. This year we will have a piper from the DRPP&D at each of our five divisions located in Clarington, Whitby, Oshawa, Pickering and Scugog to play Amazing Grace to honour those officers that made the ultimate sacrifice and to bring comfort to their families. There will be a ceremony in Ottawa that can be watched at http://CPPOM.ca/Live ... #herosinlife The Ontario and National Police Memorials have special meaning to our band and in-particular to our Drum Sgt Ted Berlinghoff who’s brother in law Sault Ste Marie Police Constance Don Doucet was killed in the line of duty on May 14th, 2006. Thank you to all the men and women who serve and to their families for sharing these heroes with us.

If you cannot make the April 2021 date and require a refund please contact [email protected]... Thank you everyone for your continued support and we are looking forward to seeing all our friends and supporters on the other side of this pandemic. Wishing everyone health and happiness!

After years of wanting to feature piper Craig Downie on a TTE album, we finally made it happen! Since the release a few weeks ago 'Unexpected Guests' is being f...eatured on playlists around the world and the music video is going viral! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtXTFG-o7Kg The air played at the beginning of the piece is called " Bonnie Ellen'" in honour of Ellen Wilkes Irmisch of The Tartan Terrors. The tunes played in this video are: Bonnie Ellen; MacKinnon's Brook; Durham Regional Police Pipes and Drums; and Sleepy Maggie. Big thank you to Craig for putting his heart and soul in this beautiful creation!

Most of our members have known Neil for as long as we have been at the Highland Games. The games will not be the same without him. Neil was a great person and an excellent Drum Major. Our condolences to Neil’s family.

Another call out for Pipers. This year there will be no formal Ontario Police Memorial. This is one way we will be able to pay our respects to those that have the ultimate sacrifice and bring comfort to their families. Please share.

Unfortunately the trip to Scotland this year will be postponed to 2021. Although we’re sad that we cannot go this year this is very minor to the grief that others in the world are feeling right now due to COVID infection and the loss of loved ones. Please stay at home to protect yourself, your family and the front line workers. ... Stay safe everyone.

Unfortunately the DRPP&D will be following suit with many organizations that are postponing events. Our Tartan Day Ceilidh will be celebrated later on in the year. The first date that was available was October 23rd at the Newcastle Town Hall. Any changes to the line up will be announced. We will be providing refunds for anyone that wishes to return their ticket(s) to us. If not, the ticket will still get you in the door on October 23rd.... Although we would like to say "the show must go on" the most responsible action is to postpone. Please contact [email protected] with any questions, concerns or refunds. Thank you for your understanding.
