’ ! Who, what, when , where, & which? Lots of people are talking about masks lately, and the WHO has answered our questions in this nice little video clip.... Here are some other tips from the WHO below: Wearing a medical mask: wash your hands before touching it Find the top, look for the metal piece cover your nose, mouth and chin. Adjust metal clip to fit avoid touching your mask discard mask immediately after use, using the strings wash your hands again Wearing a cloth mask: wash hands before touching it cover your nose, mouth and chin. Adjust to ensure there are no gaps on the sides avoid touching your mask clean hands before removing mask remove using the strings store in clean plastic resealable bag if it is not dirty or wet, and always remove using the strings wash in soap and hot water at least once a day clean hands after removing keep a spare to ensure you have a clean mask to use Please wear a mask to your next appointment Stay safe, Dr. Tkachuk

Great News! The Ministry of Health has amended Directive #2 to allow for a gradual reopening of chiropractic practices. The clinic, as well as our policies and procedures will look a little different, but the quality of care will be the same! Many new policies, protocols and screening will be implemented to ensure the safety of our staff and patients. More information outlining new requirements and patient guidelines will be updated in a detailed email. ... I am so happy to announce that I will be back in the clinic starting on Monday, June 1st for appointments! Sometimes showing up is the best progress you can make This morning for instance... the weather was beautiful, the sun was shining there was nothing but trees and no one in sight . Peace & Love isn’t just for the holidays it’s also important to give your strains and sprains a little love too! Here is how: Instead of tending to your injuries with PRICE and RICE.. it’s now time for peace & love. Earlier this year, this new acronym launched to help optimize recovery and rehab your injuries. But what does it stand for and how does it help? P- Protect: Rest for 1-3 days to minimize blending and further injury. Rest should be limited so not to compromise st...rength and integrity of the tissues. After that let the retraining begin! E- Elevate: like RICE and PRICE you still want to elevate above your heart. A- Avoid anti-inflammatory modalities: let your body go through its inflammatory process to let tissues repair and heal C- Compress: taping, wraps and bandages to limit swelling and bleeding E- Educate: Investigate the importance of active recovery. Your needs movement to retrain and rebuild with the help of a proper rehabilitation program. & L- Load: Introducing lain-free early activity can help to repair, remodel and build strength in damaged tissues. O- Optimism: You’ve got this! V- Vascularization: some light physical activity can help to increase blood flow to the area and improve function. Blizzard outside? Snow problem! Save your back this winter with a few of these tips and tricks for shovelling snow! 1.Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. (Shovelling can be quite a workout!) 2. Pick the right shovel. Choose a light weight shovel that you can push.... 3. Warm up! Take a little walk around the block to get your joints moving 4. Push snow, don’t throw. Push snow to sides of your driveway instead of lifting it. 5. If lifting is necessary, bend your knees and lift with your legs. Change sides frequently to prevent repetitive motion on one side 6. Clear snow often to prevent snow from building up and becoming heavier to clear 7. Be aware of slippery surfaces, and use sand or salt to prevent slips & falls.
