Just completed my second to last Pediatric course this weekend It was a seminar about chiropractic family practice, where we serve the needs of both the babies/children and also of their parents. I'm looking forward to completing my last course, and writing the exam over the next several months! Have a great Sunday everyone!

Best gift you can give a chiropractor! I'm lucky to have some crafty patients, such as the artist behind @Overthemountainsco . Check out this Ottawa small business for all your printing and custom design decorations, they do awesome work!!

It is such a joy to see little ones at the clinic! This little girl accompanies her baby brother at his visits (I have been treating him for infantile torticolis, which is very common in newborns - he's doing great now!). She loves to have her turn on the baby pillow, and enjoyed her first pediatric adjustment!

Turmeric latte Watch and save this video to easily make this at home! Turmeric is a mega power spice. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, which helps strengthen the immune system (all while helping out the liver, kidneys, vascular system, digestive system, skin, etc). Once you start reading all of its benefits, you'll sprint to the store for it like I did!... Here is an easy way to incorporate it in your daily routine. I love having it at night, especially in the colder months. Let me know how you enjoy it! How to: Heat up some milk, add turmeric powder, add a dash of black pepper, whisk it, pour it in your cup, add some honey (trust me!), and enjoy!

Adjusting techniques I tell my new patients that there are many ways to adjust the spine, with various intensity levels. Every patient receives the technique that aligns best with their condition, their physiology and with their comfort level. 1 Manual adjustments: these are the ''traditional'' chiropractic adjustments (that you may have seen on the internet). The chiropractor uses their hands to adjust the vertebra, using a high speed and low amplitude thrust. This type... of adjustment usually produces a cavitation (cracking sound produced by air release within the joint space). 2Drop adjustments: this type uses the mechanics of the drop pieces on the table. It uses the impulse provided by the drop to move the appropriate segment. The patient feels the impact from the table, but rarely feels a cavitation. This technique is very appreciated by those who prefer a medium-intensity, gentle approach. 3Activator (instrument) adjustments: this technique utilizes an instrument (as seen in the photo) to deliver the adjustment. The instrument provides a rapid thrust to the selected vertebra, with enough force to create the adjustment. This technique is wonderful for patients who prefer low-force methods, such as kids, seniors and everyone in between. These techniques all achieve the same results! I love being able to tailor my techniques to my patient's preferences and conditions. What are your favorite ways to receive an adjustment??
